The First Day of School for the 6th and the 9th Grade Students
|
August 22nd is the first day for all 6th and 9th grade students who will go through orientation and pre-assessment for the first two days of the school year. Parents are expected to arrive by 7:25 am and doors will be open for students at 7:35, everyday. The students will have 25 minutes until 8 am to use lockers, eat breakfast, and stay in the homeroom to listen to the morning announcements. Arrivals after 7:45 am is considered tardy and those students will not be ready for the day when the first period starts at 8 am. Parents are asked to consider the traffic which is always hectic in the morning. Pick up is at 2:49 pm and 3:10 is the latest pick up time without consequences. 2016-2017 Bell Schedule
|
The bell schedule for the 2016-2017 school year is attached.
Students should arrive by 7:25 a.m. and prepare to enter the building at 7:35 a.m.
Students who enter the building after 7:45 a.m. will be marked tardy.
The CMIT-South school day ends at 2:54. All students should be picked up no later than 3:00 p.m.

High School Courses and Electives
|
High school students will be offered 8 credits:
- 1 Math credit - 1 English credit - 1 Science credit - 1 Social Studies credit - 1 World Languages (Spanish) credit - 1 Foundations of Technology credit - 2 electives
During the first week of the school, students will have chance to gather information about high school elective courses from teachers to better understand the content of the course offerings. Students and parents will be asked to fill out online "Elective Corse Request Form" for course selection. Students will start their elective courses at the beginning of the second week.

Withdrawal Information
|
Families wishing to withdraw students during the summer break should note the following:
-- There is a 24-hour notice required for student withdrawal -- Please send withdrawal requests to secretary@cmitsouth.org -- Withdrawal request should include student name, reason for withdrawal and next school/county -- Withdrawals can only be completed after July 15, 2016 -- School is opened for summer hours Monday - Thursday, we are not opened on Friday.

What is the Uniform Policy?
The uniform policy can be found on our website, under Students tab.How do we order uniform items?Uniform items can be ordered by completing the online order form: http://www.glenburnie.minutemanpress.com/cmit/welcome.htmlDo I have to purchase uniforms from this vendor?No, however, uniforms purchased from other vendors must have 100% identical color tone and the CMIT South logo. The current uniform vendor provides donation to the CMIT South PTO based on sales. Each uniform purchase from Minuteman Press is contribution to the school.
What is CMIT's Daily Schedule?7:35- 7:45am:- Student arrival (drop off is at the side entrance)- Doors close at 7:45am (after 7:45am parents need to sign late students in at the Front Office)7:35 - 7:57am:- Homeroom (Breakfast is available during this time until 7:50am)8:00am - 2:49pm for 6th grade and 2:54 for 7th grade: - Academic instruction2:49/2:54 - 3:05 pm: Student pick-up outside (Students who are not picked up by 3:10pm will be waiting outside for their ride. There is no adult supervision for these students during this time).Clubs and enrichment activities will begin immediately following dismissal. All club/enrichment participants must report directly to the cafeteria. Students who continuously fail to report directly to their designated locations will lose the privilege to participate in any after school activities. How do I pay for my child's lunch?Breakfast and lunch are served every day. You can add money to your child's account by visiting this link. You can also pay by cash or money order in the cafeteria. Can my child bring their own lunch to school?Students can bring a lunch from home. Lunches can be stored in the student's locker. Microwaves are available in the cafeteria to warm food. Refrigerators are not available for students.What do they serve for school lunch?A monthly menu is provided by Food and Nutrition Services.
