PROJECT RUNWAY CMIT SOUTH EDITION
Class of 2021 put on an awesome fashion show on May 17, 2019. The show was well attended with the auditorium fully packed to cheer on the fashionistas. The staff were not left out of this fun event. Thank you all student members of this class for exhibiting such organizational and dedicative skills. This is a testament to the growth we are seeing in our young adults. They could not have done any of these without the guidance of their sponsor Ms. Cameron as well as support from other staff members and parents. Thank you all.

Important College Information: NAVIANCE
This week I visited 11th grade classrooms and presented with information regarding Naviance. Naviance is a college and career readiness tool that our high school students will be using to prepare for college admissions. I will be visiting 9th and 10th grade classrooms next week and the following. Attached to this posting is the presentation that is used in the classroom visits. -------- **COMMON APP INFORMATION FOR RISING SENIORS** -Current 11th grade students need to be aware that they will need to create a CommonApp account. **PLEASE DO NOT CREATE AN ACCOUNT UNTIL LATE AUGUST/EARLY FALL.** -CommonApp has a roll-over period and will not retain information that is entered in prior to late August/early fall. -Students should only create ONE account. Creating multiple accounts creates a lot of difficulty and will result in the student having to contact CommonApp to see if they can link the accounts. -Students MUST remember the email they use to create their CommonApp account. This email will be needed to link CommonApp with Naviance. *THIS WILL TAKE PLACE IN THE FALL* -CMIT-South will not have access to CommonApp login information. If the student forgets their login, the student will need to contact CommonApp directly. -Students may create a CommonApp account in late August/early fall of their 12th grade year using the following link. **DO NOT CREATE AN ACCOUNT BEFORE LATE AUGUST.** -Link to CommonApp: https://www.commonapp.org/ -Most colleges accept applications through CommonApp; however some colleges require mailed in application materials. Students can see how colleges/universities accept materials by viewing that specific College/University on Naviance.
