Middle School Math iReady Diagnostic Test - Beginning September 14
|
Beginning Monday Sept. 14th, all middle school math students will begin taking the i-Ready diagnostic test through their math course. This includes 6th, 7th, and 8th graders enrolled in Math 6/7, Math 7/8, Math 8, Algebra 1, and Geometry.
i-Ready is an online program for reading and mathematics that will help your student’s teacher(s) determine your student’s needs, personalize their learning, and monitor progress throughout the school year. i-Ready allows your teacher(s) to meet your student exactly where they are and provides data to increase your student’s learning gains. i-Ready consists of two parts: Diagnostic and Personalized Instruction. More information can be found at https://i-readycentral.com/familycenter/
We ask that students have a distraction free area to take the test. Though the test is not apart of the student's grade, it is important they try their best.
Your help is appreciated to make for a smooth testing experience. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Messer at kmesser@mycsp.org

Senior Portraits - It's a Go! - Friday, October 9, 2020
|
AACPS recently released a message stating that schools are allowed to move forward with allowing senior portraits to take place within the school building. CSP's senior portrait date was rescheduled for October 9, 2020.
When I reached out Prestige (Lifetouch) about how the process of notification and scheduling will work, I received the following message:
Senior portraits have been confirmed for October 9, 2020. Students will receive appointment cards in the mail 2 weeks prior to our arrival. Please note, we have adopted a new scheduling process to help with social distancing and crowd control, per CDC protocol. The students are asked to log onto the PrestigePortraits.com website to "self-schedule" their appointment. The appointment cards have a date range listed when we will be at the school. The student then uses their unique ID number to log onto PrestigePortraits.com to select a date/time convenient for them.

Important AACC ECAP information
|
If you are taking an AACC course this semester, below, please find important AACC course information for classes that begin next week. Please check your "MyAACC" to test your browser/device to ensure access to Canvas Technical Requirements for Canvas (Links to an external site.)
Be sure to check your "MyAACC" everyday during the semester for information from your AACC professor and updates.
As a reminder,
· Your course(s) begin online 9/14. Students will have access to their courses 3 days prior to the start of class. To access the course, students will log into MyAACC and click on “Access my Courses”.
· You will “attend” a PreStart Orientation to acclimate yourself to AACC policies, procedures, supports, etc. The PreStart Orientation will be a link that will be either added to the Canvas course or sent via email to the students (through their MyAACC email) that students will be required to watch during the first week of their AACC class. During the PreStart, there is a brief overview of Canvas and how to access your course. Once in the course, students should be able to work their way through the modules. If there are issues, email your instructor to ask where to find things/how to navigate.
o If you would like to view the PreStart Orientation, visit https://zoom.us/rec/share/yJFSD76trCRJHKvd-UzdBYM-FNn_aaa81iJI8_oEmE9Cg3vqYVl0-cIu7CfxbuIw
Passcode: U21Hsy@s
· Instructors will be using Teams or Zoom for the synchronous meetings with students. Zoom has been tested on the AACPS issued Chromebooks, and it is compatible (it works). Teams is having issues, so I am working with John Magnus to do some testing – hopefully it’s just an issue of unblocking or tweaking a setting. These links will be sent by the instructors or included in the Canvas course. Please mark the times below in your schedules and if you cannot find the link prior to the first day, email your instructor.
Helpful links:
o Accessing MyAACC: https://www.aacc.edu/resources/technology/myaacc/
o Password Management Tool: https://vkiosk.aacc.edu/identity/self-service/aac/login.jsf
o If students are unable to log into the college portal, MyAACC, contact the Technical Call Center (Help Desk) at 410-777-4357.
