REVISED - Locker Cleanout / Drop-off Event - JUNE 15-16 AND JUNE 18
|
Hello CSP families,
Yesterday, you all received correspondence that provided the date for student access to the school. Because students are allowed to make up any and all fourth quarter assignements through June 18th, I am changing the dates students will access the building. The new dates for access are June 15th and 16th. The drop off times will remain the same as outlined in the previous schedule. For parents whose child borrowed a Chrome book from CSP, the IT department will be accepting those on June 18th from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. You must still adhere to the June 15th or 16th date if your student needs to return other items or gain access to their locker. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. It is my goal to ensure that our students are not deprived of the opportunity of improving their fourth quarter grade. For parents who had previously made arrangements with me, those arrangements will still be honored. Please let me know if you wish to make different arrangements. I can be reached at djefferson@mycsp.org.
Many of our students were enrolled in Mrs. Pratt’s art class for the second semester and have artifacts and materials in her classroom. If you would like to pick up your child's artwork on June 15th or 16th, please email Mrs. Pratt at rpratt@mycsp.org BEFORE Wednesday June 3 so she can pull the work and place it in the lobby. All other work will be returned next school year
I thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation. Please remain safe and well.
Respectfully,
Dwight L. Jefferson
Principal

Cap/Gown Gala & Diploma Distribution - June 3
|
Dear CSP Families and Friends,
On June 3rd, we have created a wonderful opportunity for each graduating senior to return to CSP to be individually recognized as a graduate of the Class of 2020. Each graduating senior is invited to attend our Cap and Gown Gala and Diploma Distribution, which will take place after the Video Commencement (see attached schedule). Additionally, up to four family members will be able to attend to unleash their joy and happiness to honor their proud graduate.
When coming to CSP for the Cap and Gown Gala and Diploma Distribution, please comply with the following protocol for your personal safety, and the safety of others. Date/times are as follows for the last name alpha of graduating seniors.
For graduates and their family:
Graduates will come to CSP with NO MORE THAN FOUR family members TOTAL, NO exceptions. Graduate arrives to campus in no more than two vehicles per graduate, accompanied by NO more than four (4) family members TOTAL combined for both vehicles, NO exceptions. Example, graduate in vehicle #1 with four family members total – OR – graduate in vehicle #1 with two family members and accompanying vehicle #2 which also has two family members.
Graduates are to bring their cap/gown/tassel/stole/cords.
Family members must wear mask/face covering.
Graduate is the only person attending the event that will have the OPTION to wear a mask/face covering, all other attendees MUST wear mask/face covering, this includes the Principal (and staff) who will be wearing a mask/face covering.
Anyone experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, or whose family members are experiencing symptoms, may NOT attend the event.
Prior to arrival on campus, the graduate is to write in big, bold print on an 8 ½” x 11” inch piece of white paper the first and last name of the graduate.
Upon arrival to campus, place the latter piece of paper on the graduate’s dashboard or on the passenger side window. Paper and marker will NOT be provided for you upon arrival to campus.
Upon entering the school campus, the graduate’s vehicle is to enter the main gate and then proceed to the Parent Pick-Up Loop, then make your way to the rear of the school. Note: If the graduate has a second vehicle accompanying them, they are to gather in the morning bus drop off parking lot before entering the Parent Loop in order to assemble prior to entering the Parent Loop so that the vehicles are back-to-back for the same graduate.
CSP staff members will direct the graduate’s vehicle(s) to create a single line of vehicles in the Parent Loop.
While waiting in the Parent Loop, everyone MUST remain in your vehicle at ALL TIMES, until your vehicle reaches the head of the line.
Once the graduate’s vehicle reaches the head of the line, staff members will direct the graduate and their family members (no more than four family members per graduate) to exit the graduate’s vehicle(s), with the graduate making their way to the stage located in the rear parking lot corner area. Graduate is to wear their cap/gown/tassel/stole/cords. Graduate should wear their tassel on the left.
Family members are to remain in an area located directly next to the graduate’s vehicle, family members may NOT approach the front of the stage.
Graduate will walk to the side of the stage, whereby they will indicate to the CSP staff member their (graduate’s) name.
The graduate’s diploma will then be placed on the table on the stage.
A CSP staff member will announce the graduate’s name on the mic/speaker.
After the graduate’s name is announced, the graduate is to walk up the stage steps to the top of the stage and pick-up their diploma from the table.
The graduate is to remain on stage, standing in place on the stage for the family and Lifetouch (photographer) to take a picture of the graduate.
Note: For health/safety guidelines, the Principal will NOT hand the diploma to the graduate, and the Principal will NOT shake the graduate’s hand. The Principal will be standing behind the table on the stage, 6ft. from the graduate wearing a mask/face covering.
After the graduate receives their diploma and has their picture taken, the graduate is to exit the stage and return immediately to their vehicle.
After the graduate and accompanying family members assemble back in their vehicle(s), the graduate and family members are to immediately exit the campus in their vehicle(s), making way for the next graduate to be recognized. Graduates and their family members may NOT gather and may NOT remain on campus.
Please be mindful of the latter so we can accommodate the large number of graduates that will be attending during the same hour/day.
Please make sure to look over the attached schedule to know what time you should arrive.

Artwork and sketchbooks
|
If you would like to pick up your child's artwork or sketchbook during the scheduled time, please email Mrs. Pratt at rpratt@mycsp.org before Wednesday June 3 so she can pull the work and place it in the lobby. All other work will be returned next school year.
I have sketchbooks that belong to students that were in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade this year. I do not typically send these home but since we are not sure how school will be in the fall, I would like to make sure students have their sketchbooks.
Please see the attached schedules for the times.

CLASSROOM HAPPENINGS
|
|
Social Studies 8th grade
|
Greeting CSP families, I am so impressed by the resilience of these young people. Students have emerged stronger from the recent challenges, and have learned lots about themselves. Another positive note, we have experimented with a different online platform / interactive activity each week, and students should be proud of their creativity, initiative, and willingness to try new things. Let's finish strong, and enjoy the summer!

At Home Family "Field Day"
|
Dear CSP Families,
Field day is an important tradition at any school. It is a significant day for students and staff, and we feel that in these incredibly challenging times, Field Day is an event that can unite us and give us positive memories. Even though we will not be having a Field Day at CSP this year, here is a voluntary Field Day that you can do at home for fun!
In this packet, you will find: Field Day Directions, Field Day equipment list, Field Day score card, and an Event description list with directions on how to set-up and play each activity.
All Field Day events are designed to be played indoors or outdoors in a safe space using household items. You do not have to purchase any specialized equipment or supplies. If you don’t have equipment for a specific event, use an alternative or substitute or simply skip that activity. Simply read through the pages below with directions, but feel free to be creative to make each event more challenging!
I hope you and your families enjoy this special event together. On behalf of all CSP staff members, we miss our students, and hope our CSP families stay safe and healthy!
