Graduation Tickets / Senior Breakfast
Good Afternoon Parents / Guardians,

Can you believe it? We are getting close to graduation day and all the fun stuff that goes along with it. It has been a pleasure watching your children grow from the little sixth graders they were when they arrived, into mature young adults ready to make their mark.

This is a very busy time both for families and for the school planning the events, so I hope I can do a great job at keeping our communication lines open. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me if you have questions. I am here to assist in any way I can and want this process to run smoothly.

Please see the attached graduation ticket order form.

Please click on the link to sign up for the senior breakfast that will be provided on May 24 which is the last day for seniors. Parents are encouraged to join their students for this event.

The College Leadership Program (CLP) visited UMD.
On April 28th, student members of the College Leadership Program (CLP) visited UMD to celebrate Maryland Day. Students enjoyed a variety of STEM activities, music, food, and great weather. They also had the unique opportunity to participate in a guided tour of several engineering labs, led by a Ph.D. student at the university pursuing a degree in quantum physics. Students received firsthand information about current research and career opportunities. Thank you Mr. Yagar for arranging the labs visits. We hope the experience will inspire our students to explore their interest in different disciplines. Thank you to mentors Mrs. Valencia, Mr. Yagar, and Mrs. Albayrak; as well as parent chaperons Mr. Kothari and Mrs. Deregla.

UPCOMING EVENTS
AP exams began on May 7th
Students are required to arrive no later than 30 minutes prior to their exam: 8:00 a.m. for the morning administration and 11:30 a.m. for the afternoon administration. Students may not be dismissed until an exam has officially ended; do not ask to leave early if you finish before the end of the exam. If students play a sport or have a job, it is their responsibility to inform their coach or employer of your AP Exam obligation, and arrangements should be made accordingly. Get a good night’s rest before your exam and eat a nutritious breakfast. Food and drink are prohibited in the exam room. It is advisable to bring a sweater, in case the room temperature is below your comfort level. Students are required to abide by the policies of both the College Board and Chesapeake Science Point Public Charter School during the exam period. Any misconduct will be reported and could jeopardize your AP Exam score. Be sure to review the 2017-18 Bulletin for AP Students and Parents that students received in January. If you have any additional questions or concerns, feel free to contact me. Good luck!
