GENERAL NEWS
Principal's Corner
Greetings CMIT South MHS Families, I hope you are doing well and keeping safe! We have acknowledged and recognized, internally, our Assistant Principals during the week of April 5th . This week we acknowledged and recognized, internally, our Administrative Professional(s) aka Secretaries . This year, Teacher (Staff) Appreciation Week will be from May 3rd - May 7th. While our PTO has always showered our staff with love and jestures of appreciation, this year is like no other. We need your creativity on display. If you have not yet shown your appreciation for assistant principals or secretaries, it is not too late. As you think of creative ways to show your scholar's teachers how much you appreciate them, don't forget your child's supporters behind the scene. Shower them with tokens of thoughtfulness that yells out, "I Appreciate You!"

Biology At-Home Mini-Lab (April 26)
Hello beautiful biology scholars, Just a friendly reminder that you will be doing an asynchronous mini-lab about sex-linked traits on Monday (April 26th). You only need a piece of paper and something to write with because all of your data and post-lab responses will be in the PearDeck. Reviewing Punnett Squares and the slides (available in the folders section of Edmodo) would be very helpful! As would reading the book (in clever) and reviewing YouTube videos (the Amoeba Sisters and CrashCourse). Don't be afraid to ask questions or seek out more practice! Have a wonderful weekend!

Our Senior PLTW Engineering Students Need Your Help!
Hello Terrific Tiger Scholars and Families! Our senior PLTW Engineering students have been working diligently this school year to complete their capstone projects. Every year they present their projects at at Senior Symposium, where fellow scientists, mathematicians, and engineers judge their portfolios. Due to being in a virtual environment this format is going to look different this year. The symposium will be taking place over zoom on May 12th from 6-8 PM. For this event we are in need of judges and audience members from our amazing community. The judges will be responsible for listening to the presentations, asking clarifying questions based on the presentations, and completing a rubric evaluation form. If you have a background in science, math, or engineering and are interested in being a judge please email Ms. Gilliam at kgilliam@cmitsouth.org. In addition to the judges we welcome all community members and scholars to be part of the audience to witness the fantastic work our seniors have done this school year. A link will be provided through the newsletter as we get closer to the event. We look forward to having you attend! Thank you for all of your support!
