GENERAL NEWS
HAVE A HAPPY THANKSGIVING
As we reflect on the many things for which we are thankful, CMIT South MS/HS wants to take this opportunity to share just a few of them with you: We are thankful for our students who come to school every day ready to learn – they give us all a daily reminder of what is important and why we are here. We are thankful for the support of the parents in creating an outstanding partnership for our students. We are thankful for the teachers, assistants, nurse, secretaries, lunchroom staff, support staff, and administrators who really care about student achievement and have the best interests of our students at heart. We are also thankful for our volunteers who enthusiastically contribute so much daily. Everyday, we see dedicated and tireless individuals going above and beyond to make sure that great things happen at CMIT South MS/HS. They do make a difference, and the scholars, in their own individual ways, benefit from those efforts. Most importantly, we are thankful for the families that have kept the faith in us. They continue to share their most valuable possession with us and—in most cases— work hard and advocate to be a partner in their children’s education, safety and well-being. For this, we are ever so thankful. From CMIT South family to yours, Have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday!

High School Class Spirit Cup
Hello again CMIT-South High School! SGA is introducing a new class competition for the 2019-2020 school year. If you have seen or read Harry Potter - then this will make a ton of sense. If not, follow along and ask questions if you need help understanding. This year we are starting a Class Spirit Cup for the High School classes to compete against one another. Each class will earn points during selected events and will contribute to their class total. The class with the highest total of spirit points will be rewarded at the end of the year. While rewards are still be debated and decided on, they may (or may not) include dress down days, food, or an SGA sponsored event for the winning class. Classes will be awarded points by participating in selected events which include, but are not limited to, spirit week events, number of honor-roll students each quarter, number of positive PRS students at the end of the month, and class battles (i.e. decorations, trivia nights, sports competitions, etcetera). We want everyone to enjoy their high school experience but also set CMIT-South apart from other schools in the county with how much participation we see in school-sponsored events.
