Yearbook needs your help!
Yearbook club has been hard at work putting together a yearbook like no other! We are trying to capture the crazy year we have had and need your help. Take funny candids of yourself in front of your computer during distance learning. Show a new skill you learned during the pandemic--maybe cooking with your siblings or a new dance move! Take a picture and send it in for the yearbook. Maybe you are in the class of 2021 and want to say thanks to your teachers, parents, friends and supporters with a sign or picture.....sent it in to the yearbook! Maybe you are playing a sport and have some fun action shots of your team during practice....take a photo and send it in to the yearbook! Please submit candid pictures of CMIT life during distance learning. We want to see YOU in the pages of CMIT's historic year! Help us capture these moments so you can look back and remember how you never gave up! Candids of you playing basketball outside, working in class, chatting with friends through apps....all of this will help us create a yearbook that defines this time. If you want to submit a drawing, a poem, or even a joke, please send your submissions and photos to yearbook@cmitacademy.org. If you have any questions, please let Ms. O'Donnell know at todonnell@cmitacademy.org All photos must be submitted by Friday, April 30th.

Finding my quarter score given my expected class average!
Now that the 3rd Quarter Grades were finalized and submitted. How much learning did you lose or gain? For you to play on how much would be your projected average, you may use the formula link below: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1H3YWDe7k1lu01eUKu1QDVUNete2CFA7hxADGwXVNw24/edit?usp=sharing First, put in your grades on the first, second, and third quarters, respectively. Then indicate the percentage on how much average you would like to gain in the course. The fourth quarter grade will appear, which will be the grade you need to work on during this fourth quarter. Remember that CMIT has the Academic Suppor and Tutoring Service; please recognize your opportunity to be benefited to get the grade you need to work on or even to increase your grades.

UPCOMING EVENTS
One CMIT, ONE EARTH advocating STEM
On Thursday, during our second period (which may run a little over the third period), of April 22, 2021, the Green School will be hosting a live presentation over our CMIT Youtube channel to highlight environmental issues across the planet and demonstrate support for environmental protection. CMIT second-period teachers will tune in to the CMIT youtube channel to broadcast the program in their respective classrooms, and students will log in to support the hybrid learning setting. All students will have a chance to blog or interact during the event to let everyone know about protecting and restoring our planet. During the live presentation which Morgan Pringle and Moncrief Peyton will host, three speakers from the following will highlight the show: 1. Retired Brigadier General Deborah Y. Howell, who held various United States military command and staff positions, including Project Officer from the National Guard Bureau, ARP-M, Arlington, Virginia, and Adjutant General of the United States Virgin Islands. Retired Brig. Gen. Howell advocates for a values-driven, sustainable culture that stays current with ever-changing but critical local, regional, national, and international environmental policies. 2. Eric Moberg, Strategic Program Manager of the Potomac Electric Power Company (PEPCO), which is a public utility that supplies electric power to the city of Washington, D.C., and surrounding communities in Maryland. His skills include but not limited to Renewable Energy, Efficiency, and Environmental Sustainability. 3. Dawn Hawkins-Nixon, P.E., CPM, Associate Director from Sustainability Division of the Maryland Department of Education. Director Hawkins will conduct live-streaming STEM hands-on practices to demonstrate and engage the CMIT community on Agriculture. The Green school will also announce the STEM Environmental Logo creator winners and show the CMIT Video Green School campaign. Lastly, as part of the celebrations, Science students will show short environmental drive films during the morning announcement for the whole week.

Leaning Ukulele is fun and exciting!
After getting enough of the song " Love me Tender," where students familiarized themselves with the tab Bm and Bbm... we will now proceed to tabs Em and Dm. We would make the strumming pattern of D-D-D-D. (D=Downward strum.) Another pattern would be a D-D-D-D pattern on the up-beat or the part of the beat between two downbeats. If you would like to join us, please meet every Monday, 3:30-4:30 pm, or email gclarke@cmitacademy.org. New ukulele members are on the pattern of C tabs.
