FIELD DAY !!!! Need more volunteers
|
Greetings CLF families !
Field day is coming up this Thursday, June 13 and we are still short some volunteers. The field day runs in two shifts with K-2 being outside playing from 8am - 11:00 and then 3-5 graders switching for their turn in the sun from 11:30 - 2pm. Any volunteers will be given written directions and schedule for their station and directed by Mr. Loomer on how things should proceed throughout the day and what to expect. If you plan on volunteering and this is your FIRST time, just present a state issued ID at the front desk. If you have volunteered before or multiple times, you should have or need to get fingerprinted for a background check.
Volunteers can wear appropriate shorts and t shirts, sneakers and please bring a refillable bottle of water ( we will provide water jugs and a free lunch ).
Students can wear shorts, their grade theme color shirt or regular uniform shirt, sneakers and please bring water bottles ( water jugs will also be available to students )
If you can not volunteer at this time, but still want to help, Mr. Loomer is also accepting donations of juices, waters, and chip bags/snacks for field day if you can bring them into the classroom... he will come get it from there ! Some donations of small items are still needed for activity stations like 4 small buckets of the same make and size, bubble blowers for the classes to use ( trying to get a bubble machine, but it might not be enough excitement for a whole class at 1 time ), a dozen lemons for a lemon and spoon relay race.
If you wish to volunteer please email Mr. Loomer at: gloomer@cmitsouthes.org
Thanks !!!!

News You Can Use
|
Parents/Guardians,
The school year is almost over! Get the summer reading on! Now is the time to encourage our scholars to begin reading more. Research shows that many students forget the learning acquired during the school year; that is, they slide. On the other hand, research also shows that students mature over the summer months. This is really true, as I see how much they have grown when they return to school in the Fall. With that said, let us intensify reading for pleasure and for information so that, our scholars will maintain good reading habits and grow academically.
Weekly visits to the library will motivate students to check out that favorite book. I know we also buy books, but allowing them to visit the library is not only increasing their interest in books, but it is building good study habits for the future. The library is a great place to be. Hope I see you there.
Field Day:- Next week Thursday, June 13, we will have our first CMIT Field Day. Please volunteer through the PTO as well as with Mr. Loomer, our PE teacher. We need LOTS of supplies of small bottled water, juice boxes, and chips. We need volunteers to help in various center activities, as well as to help. Please come out and support us at this event. Please note that no vehicles will be allowed to drive in until 1:50 PM with that said, monitor how you plan your arrival for dismissal. If you are one of the early birds, you may have to wait at the top of the drive-through.
Thanks to all our fifth-grade parents who helped to celebrate our first promotion last evening. To all responsible participants-You did an awesome job.
I have included a flyer; if you have a teenager please try to get in.
