Successful Zoo Trip!
|
Hello awesome third grade parents and supporters! I just wanted to take a minute to give a huge shout out to all of the parents and chaperones that helped make our recent trip to the zoo a HUGE success! Many of the groups were able to see the entire zoo and got to experience all that was offered there! As the year is winding down, I also want to remind everyone to be checking SchoolMAX to see if any assignments are missing that need to be turned in or made up before my grades are due on June 13th. If this is the case, please reach out to me through Dojo.

4th Grade
|
Parents,
In Science we are currently working on understanding how boats float by participating in a program called DESCARTES. Your child has access to this and is welcome to work on it at home if they choose.
In Math we are finishing up working on area and perimeter and will have an assessment next Friday.
In Health we are learning about sound and hearing and will move into understanding fitness and nutrition.
In Reading, we are continuing to explore the topic of Immigration. We will begin reading a new story entitled Coolies by Yin. As we read, we are looking to identify the author’s style and purpose of writing. Students will also begin an in-class Immigration Project.
In Social Studies, we are wrapping up the Southeast and will continue to discuss and learn about the other regions of the United States. Remember Regions Project and Southeast Region Test are both due on Monday June 3, 2019.

Happening's in Libebe's Fifth
|
Happy Friday! Camp Schmidt field trip is on June 3 students need to arrive to school on time and any students who have not provided money and/or permission slips will stay at the school. Almost of all of the assignments for the quarter have been entered in SchoolMax, please, encourage your scholars to pay close attention to their SchoolMax accounts to make themselves aware of what assignments they are missing. As I mentioned before a lot of grades are suffering because students are not completing their homework. Scholars also need to be aware of the Science assignments that have been given to them on Clever, these also need to be completed for students to receive proper credit.
Regarding Promotion, tickets have gone home TODAY. Students have signed for them as confirmation. Extra/Replacement tickets will not be available.
Promotion - June 6, 2019 6 - 7:30p
Students need to report to the CMIT Middle High School at @5p Middle High

5th Grade T-Shirt Design Contest
|
Hello Parents!
Some exciting news...5th graders have been asked to design a CMIT spirit T-Shirt for next school year! This week, students discussed ideas about what makes a good T-Shirt design. We talked about contrast, color, placement, size and fonts. After this, students started generating a list of different ideas that represent our school. Some ideas included: Tigers, math symbols, paw prints, lighthouse, laptop and "tigers roar." Students got right to work on their designs!
One design will win the T-shirt design contest. On the last day of school, the winner will be announced. The student who's design is chosen will win a surprise prize!

Old Town Road: graduation edition
|
Hello,
With 5th grade graduation around the corner, we decided to make a graduation remix to their current favorite song "Old Town Road"
I’m gonna take my talents to middle school
and show them all that we ain’t no fools
gonna take my talents to middle school
and show them all that we ain’t no fools
I’m talking A’s in all my classes
Every test I'm passing
so smart that my teacher said I need a Master’s
My life is a movie
used to be unruly
Now my future so bright shining like a ruby
Can’t nobody tell me nothin’ (except my mom)
they can’t tell me nothin’ (except my mom)
Can’t nobody tell me nothin’ (except my mom)
They can’t tell me nothin’ (except my mom)
