Attendance
|
Parents/Guardians,
Attendance for all students continues to be an important topic. Please ensure that your scholars are in school on time daily. This last quarter is crucial as students will continue to learn valuable skills and concepts necessary to do well in the next grade. Please encourage reading and review of past work. Your scholar should have an idea of what they need help with. Have them create a list of things to learn/review as we move towards the end of the school year.
Thanks for supporting teaching and learning.
Respectfully,
L. Watkis (Assistant Principal)

Kindergarten: Growing Pains
|
What a week! We have had 22 students back in all of Kindergarten. It was great to see smiling faces in person. Hats off to our Kindergarten Team...who juggled many hats this week. We are still learning to teach in person and virtually. Thank you parents and caregivers for giving our team grace as we learn teach both ways.
We know that the students in person have not been in school for a very long time AND it may be their first experience ever being in school. Please help your child remember the following.
1. Wear their mask over their mouth and nose
2. Respect other's space...social distancing
3. Wash hands for 20 sec.
We are in week 31. We have 9 more weeks to go. The 3rd quarter has just ended and we have just started our last quarter. Please continue to have your child read daily, go over sight words and practice addition and subtraction up to 10. Let's finish strong.
Looking forward to an amazing 9 more weeks!
Kindergarten Team

Elementary School Mental Health and Wellness Student Survey - English
Objective: Parents or Guardians, the purpose of the following survey is to assess the needs of our students in regard to mental wellness, coping skills, and resources they will find helpful. The results of the assessment will support county professionals in planning for mental health workshops, social-emotional lessons, and preparing individual resources for students in crisis. Limited personal information (school and grade) will be kept to help the district determine needs. All other personal information will remain anonymous. Participation in this survey is completely voluntary, and your child is free to withdraw at any point without jeopardizing their relationship with PGCPS in any way.. Parents/Guardians, you may support your young learners by reading the questions and the selections, but avoid coaching them on choosing an answer. We want to obtain the clearest picture possible of your child's unique needs.
This survey focuses on student’s mental health and wellness. Mental health means "the health of your mind," from your thoughts and feelings to your actions. Mental health includes having a healthy mindset and the ability to handle big feelings, especially during tough times. This survey provides students like you the opportunity to "check in" with their true feelings. Your name will not be recorded, so please be as honest as you can. Your answers will be used to create supports for you and other students who may be dealing with the same challenges. Ask an adult to help you if you need help reading and/or understanding the sentences.

Thank you for your participation.
