Hello Kindergarten Families
Our kindergarten scholars were ready for our spirit week. They came in bearing plenty of supplies and items for donations, as well as dressed in there ugly sweaters, nice warm pajamas, their grade color clothing, and the crazy mismatch outfits. It was great to see all of the participation.
The holiday shop will be opened next week and your scholars will be able to purchase items to give to their family and friends. The only form of payment will be cash for the holiday store. If you are giving your scholar cash for the store, please place it in a zip-lock bag with your scholar's name on it. Please check with your scholar's teacher to see when their class will be going to the holiday shop.
Please check the weather daily, so your scholar is dressed appropriately for outdoor recess. We have seen some scholars come to school without a sweater or a coat to put on. Please make sure that you are reading any messages via dojo, class story, or emails pertaining to your scholar's class or any event happenings at the school.
*Homework will be provided on Fridays for the upcoming week, starting on December 2, 2022. If your scholar is in enrichment, please provide your scholar with a homework journal daily, so they can work on the assignments in enrichment.
*Communication: Teachers have begun reaching out to families via dojo, email, or by phone, to touch base and give you feedback on how your scholar is doing in class. Our goal is to reach out to 1-3 students per week, please be patient and understanding for the feedback from your scholar's teachers, as we have 23-25 scholars per class. As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to your scholar’s teacher.
If you signed your scholar up for clubs, their afternoon dismissal is for them to be in holding with the enrichment scholars. Please remember the days that your scholar is in a club, if they are usually a car or van rider, they will not be at their regular scheduled dismissal area. If for some reason, they are not to go to club that day, please notify your scholar’s teacher ahead of time, so they can be at the correct dismissal location.
ELA: Our sight words are have, they, four, yellow. We are working on diagraphs “ch” and “sh”. We are continuing to work on rhyming words and beginning sounds.
Math: We are continuing our topic 7, which is understanding and exploring subtraction problems. We will continue to use math manipulatives to assist with solving mathematical problems.
Science: We will continue to investigate the sun; and how we need protection from the sun. We will discuss why it is important to have shelter from the sun, and how we can create a shelter.
Social Studies: We are talking about why it is important to have a job? What are our needs to survive and live day to day?
Health: We will identify the five food groups and discuss why healthy eating is important.
Friendly reminder: ClassDojo is one of our main forms of communication for any classroom activities or events, and messages. Please make sure that you are connected to your scholar's ClassDojo. Teacher emails and the communication folder are other ways to stay connected as well.

Your scholar should have a full set of extra change of clothes (uniform) that can be kept in their cubbies.
Please label all of your scholar's items, sweaters, jackets, water bottles, lunch bags.
If your scholar's form of transportation changes for dismissal, please complete the necessary forms and upload into the document, as well as notify your scholar's teacher.
