Building A Book Room
I want to make sure my students have the materials and experiences they need to succeed, so I just created a request at DonorsChoose.org: Book Room for CMIT North Elementary School. We are $358 away from reaching our goal! Please donate to my donors choose project to create a Reading Book Room. My goal is to have this project fully funded before our Winter Break. This will allow teachers to use the resources available starting in January 2020! We can do it! Please donate if possible. Thanks so much! P.S. If you know anyone who may want to help my classroom, please pass this along! https://www.donorschoose.org/project/book-room-for-cmit-north-elementary-scho/4525868/

2nd Grade News
We are coming off an amazing week in second grade! In second grade last week, we had the opportunity to rotate to different classrooms to complete different Fall STEM activities. In Mr. Trippe's class, we made spider gliders to help our spiders glide to a new home. In Ms. Stollof's class, we used pumpkin candy and toothpicks to build tall towers. In Mrs. Glasper's class, we got to make slime. In Ms. Davis' class, we made different shapes using marshmallows and toothpicks. We had so much fun! Next week, we will be continuing our reading unit on working together! The question of the week will be, "Why is it a good idea to work together?" Throughout the week, we will focus on cause and effect, as well as, story structure. The spelling pattern for List A next week will be plurals. In math, we will be finishing up topic 3. This topic focuses on adding within 100 using strategies. As a reminder, it is recommended that students practice their basic addition and subtraction facts with flashcards regularly at home. Please continue to send your child to school in the correct school uniform. The only day children do not have to wear all black shoes is his/her PE day. As always, if you have any questions, please contact your child's teacher via ClassDojo. Have a great weekend and we will see everyone on Tuesday!
