PRINCIPAL MESSAGE
|
As we reflect on the 2016-2017 school year, we accomplished many wonderful learning experiences and educational opportunities that have taken place for our students at CSP, in numerous classrooms and in very creative and innovative ways. Together we have planned and executed best teaching practices and held students to high standards and expectations.
We want to thank you parents for your support. We couldn’t teach your students to this degree without a good school/home partnership.
Summer is a very special time for children and is the source of many happy memories. I hope that you and your children enjoy many opportunities to have fun as a family in the weeks ahead. I look forward to seeing your children in September.

Important Information
|
Just a reminder that students attaining the age of 11 should receive the Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis) and MCV4 (Meningococcal) immunizations. Students entering the 7th grade MUST have these before attending school. Please bring a copy of their immunization record to me when they receive them so I can update the records.
Address changes: Please notify me if your residency changes. Current residency documents are required for every student attending AACPS/CSP
Withdraws/Transfers: If your student will be leaving CSP, please notify me. I will need about a week to prepare the transfer packet. I will need to know the new school your child will be attending as well.

Farewell....
|
Dear Parents and Students,
It has been my pleasure to have been a part of the Chesapeake Science Point family for the past 9 years. Having had this unique opportunity to work with many of the students who have come across my path, through teaching and coaching. The family atmosphere of staff and students have been a positive experience. I've enjoyed my tenure at CSP. As I retire this year, I have no regrets. Thank you for entrusting your young person into my care, it has been an honor.
With sincere gratitude - Mrs. Griffin

English/Language Arts Summer Assignments
|
The ELA department is changing our summer assignment format this summer. Instead of a formal assignment, students in middle and high school classes will be given a list of books, in conjunction with the Public Library, as recommended books to read over the summer. Students will complete a log on which they enter the title of the book they have read along with a parent signature. We will celebrate those students in the fall who have read at least one book. Students will also receive websites that they can visit for practice in writing and grammar. *AP literature students will receive a formal assignment prior to leaving for the summer.
