Three Juniors Recognized
Representing CSP this year at the Capital Gazette Outstanding Students Awards Ceremony at Anne Arundel Community College were Josh Brunk, Glenn Boyette and Kaitlin White. The three juniors were selected by the school based on grades, work ethic and overall awesomeness. Congratulations to these students!

High School Student Government Association Chick-fil-A Night
Do you like chicken? Do you crave waffle fries? How about delicious milkshakes? Come out and support the high school SGA for our first Spirit Week at the Arundel Mills Chick-fil-A on Monday, March 27 from 3:30-7:30. Let your cashier know that you are there for Chesapeake Science Point or show them the flyer. CSP will receive 20% back on every order.

Saturday PSAT for 9th and 10th graders
Date: Saturday, March 25, 2017
Time: 8:30 am

If the students registered PSAT test, they should arrive by 8:15 am.

The PSAT 8/9 for 9th grade students includes the following:
 Reading Test 42 passage based questions; 55 minutes
 Writing and Language Test 40 Passage-Based Questions; 30 minutes
 Math Test 2 Test Sections 38 Questions (2 sections, 31 multiple choice, 7 grid-ins); 60 minutes

The PSAT 10 for 10th grade students includes the following:
 Reading Test 47 passage based questions; 60 minutes
 Writing and Language Test 44 Passage-Based Questions; 35 minutes
 Math Test 48 Questions; 70 minutes

All students will be dismissed 2 hours early on March 28th and March 29th. These are the last two days of the 3rd marking period.

Senior Class Photo on Wednesday, 3/29
The Senior Class photo will be taken on Wednesday, 3/29 during 2A. Seniors may bring a shirt to change into for the photograph. This should only take 30 minutes and then students will be returned to their 2A class.

CultureFest. The date is quickly approaching!

On Saturday, April 1st, CLF will be holding its annual CultureFEST from 12:00-4:00 at CMIT South in Upper Marlboro. This annual event is a fantastic celebration of culture, allowing students and families the opportunity to share their talents, food, and heritage.

Tickets for the CultureFest are available for sale now at the front desk. They are $2 in advance and $3 at the door. Performers and Children age 12 and under are free. We hope to see you there, and remember if you wear a unique cultural wardrobe you may win a prize.

Community Service- Athletes 4 Autism
The community service club is sponsoring a relay race, Athletes for Autism, on Friday April 7 to celebrate our last day before Spring Break! All proceeds from our fundraising will go to Autism Speaks to support Autism Awareness. Please contact Ms. Zambito with any questions regarding this event.

Deadline Approaching: Buy a Yearbook
Don't wait until it is too late, order your child's yearbook today for $45! This yearbook is guaranteed to be a hit with the students this year and your child can create his or her own personal page to be printed in the yearbook for free. This custom page will allow them to select the memories and photos that are personalized to them to make their yearbook one of a kind! All customized pages must be set to PRINT READY by April 21st.

As the ordering deadline approaches, don't miss out, we will only have a few additional yearbooks to sell once they are delivered by the week of June 9th.

Prom 2017
This year's Junior/Senior Prom will take place on May 12th from 6:30-10pm. Students will spend an enchanting monochromatic night on The Spirit of Baltimore, which departs from the Inner Harbor at 7pm. Deposits of $50 per ticket are due by 4/3 to Mr. Meighen to secure their spot. Students MUST be at the harbor no later than 6:30. Refunds will not be issued if they miss the boat. Any questions or concerns can be directed to Mr. Meighen or Mrs. Jensen.

Career Day- Friday, May 12th, 2017
We are excited to announce that Friday, May 12, 2017 is Career Day at Chesapeake Science Point! We are welcoming parents/guardians and community members who are interested in sharing information about a current or past career.

The event will be held from 8:30-11am in the gym and classrooms.

We need career professionals to present to our students on the following topics as related to a current or past career: educational background and/or training, general work hours, major job duties, length of employment and information about current (or past) employer.

Presenters may bring hand-outs or other materials to help students to better understand the career.

Immunizations
Just a reminder that students attaining the age of 11 should receive the
Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis) and MCV4 (Meningococcal) immunizations.
Please bring a copy of their immunization record to me when they receive them.

Address changes: Please notify me if your residency changes.

Withdraws/Transfers: If your student will be leaving CSP, please notify me. I will need about a week to prepare the transfer packet.

Corporal Shiloh and Digital Fingerprints
On Wednesday, March 22nd, Corporal Shiloh of the Anne Arundel County Police Department came in to speak to our middle school about the importance of our digital fingerprint. Students were surprised to learn that what they put on social media can stick even when deleted. Thank you to Corporal Shiloh and the Anne Arundel County Police Department for sharing this valuable lesson.

ATHLETICS / PAC
CAR MAGNETs FOR SALE - $5.00
On the morning of 31 March, the PAC will be selling CSP car magnets at the school. Show your school pride for only $5. Prior to the commencement of drop-off, a member of PAC will walk the line of waiting cars, exact change is appreciated. Upon commencement of drop-off, sales will shift to the front of the school until first period starts. Thanks for your support.

Makerspace for April: Make your own Tote Bags
We are currently accepting donations for our April Maker Space project. Students will have the opportunity to design, sew, and decorate tote bags. Donations are needed to make this a success!!!

Students will have the option to come in during lunch time under the supervision of an adult to work on their tote bags.

If you would like to donate any of the following items (new or gently used), please drop off at the front desk or your child can drop off in the media center:

Fabric or fabric scraps

decorations, etc

sewing machines
fabric paint

The yearbook is in search of pictures from the both Middle and High School students. We are looking for pictures from school events, both here at CSP as well as outside the building. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Welder needed to repair chairs for the art room.
Can you weld? I would love if you could help me get stools for the art room. We have about 15-20 stools that need repair. These stools are perfect for the art room and the tops are a great surface for painting. If repaired, students will have the opportunity to showcase their skills and have their work become a permanent part of CSP.
