Transfers/Withdrawals and Change of Residency
|
When requesting a transfer or withdrawal, you must notify me directly letting me know the last day your child with attend CSP, and the name of the school where they will be transferring to. I will need time to prepare the transfer packet so please let me know as soon as possible. Delaying getting the information to me could result in you not getting the information you need.
Whenever a change of residency occurs, you need to notify me directly with your new address. I will send you a new registration form to be completed and list list of new residency documents that you will need to return to me. Every student must have proof of residency as required by AACPS for the address in which they reside. Failure to comply could result in your child being transferred back to their home school.

Intro to Robotics Engineering Class - SUMO-BOT CHALLENGE
|
At the end of Intro to Robotics Engineering Class students have competed in sumo-bot challenge.
Here are the winners for this challenge:
Team MegaBot: Matthew L, Nathan S, Katelyn A
Team John Kent: Olivia B, Ydalis F
Congratulations to our winners!
About Sumo-Bot Challange: Students apply their knowledge of constructing and programming LEGO® MINDSTORMS® robots to create sumobots—strong robots capable of pushing other robots out of a ring. To meet the challenge, groups follow the steps of the engineering design process and consider robot structure, weight and gear ratios in their designs to make their robots push as hard as possible to force robot opponents out of the ring. A class competition serves as the final test to determine the best designed robot, illustrating the interrelationships between designing, building and programming. This activity gives students the opportunity to be creative as well as have fun applying and combining what they have learned through the previous activities and lessons in this and prior units in the series.

What are our students learning in Spanish!
|
Students in Spanish 1 are learning to make healthy food choices. We are discussing the components of a balanced diet and the effects that they have in our everyday performance as well as our future health. Parents, you can assist your student practicing their new vocabulary by discussing their choices at the dinner table.
In Spanish 4 we will be analyzing current events to identify the most urgent social issues in Spanish speaking countries. We will also establish trends by looking at statistical data. Students can benefit from watching CNN en Español.
Students in Spanish 3 are learning to describe skills necessary for different professions. They are also beginning to analyze their personality and strengths to initiate a search for their ideal career path.
Request: If you are a native Spanish speaker and are willing to visit the school to describe what you do at work and what skills are necessary for your profession, we would truly appreciate your visit. You can let me know by emailing me at malbayrak@mycsp.org.
Muchas gracias

College Acceptances
|
College Acceptances CSP seniors have done a great job! They have received acceptance offers from many colleges. Remember, many colleges have “Rolling Admissions,” which allows seniors to submit their applications any time within a certain timeframe, and decisions are made as students apply, rather than waiting for the deadline. Seniors should complete the application process ASAP. So far, CSP students have received acceptance letters from:

OTHER ANNOUNCEMENTS
|
|
Repeat Free
|
CSP continues to provide a rigorous and quality education to all students. It has always been our goal to improve upon past practices, find new ways to engage students and make learning something students enjoy. We also believe that high school students need to put forth that same effort in order to be become successful adults; therefore, CSP is Repeat Free. If a high school student receives an E in a required course, the class will have to be repeated in an alternate program such as summer school, evening school and twilight school. These programs are available for students to make up credits in courses that they were not successful in the first time; classes at CSP are for students taking them for original credit.
