E-Free School
|
CSP is an E-Free school! If a high school student receives an E as a final grade in any class, the class will have to be repeated outside of CSP. Anne Arundel County Public Schools offers summer school, evening school and twilight school for students to make up credits in courses that were not successful the first time. We need to do this because having students repeat classes here disrupts our scheduling process, our staffing, our budgets and our overall academic program.

Practica Español
|
Dear parents this is what your students are learning in Spanish class! Students in Spanish 1 are practicing to describe clothing “la ropa” they wear for different occasions and seasons. Spanish 2 is learning to make healthy choices (elecciones saludables) including physical activity and eating a balanced diet. Spanish 3 is comparing family traditions (tradiciones familiars) in different cultures. Because communication is the purpose of language it is important for your student to practice newly acquired skills. Please take advantage of daily activities such as going to the mall, eating at a restaurant, or watching tv, to ask your student to share vocabulary they learn at Spanish class. You may add a few words to your vocabulary as well!

A typical math class at CSP...
|
How did you do that? Can we solve it in another way? What will happen if...? Where can we apply that concept? Did you get the same result using different methods? How will we justify our answer is correct?
These are just some questions that an observer can hear in a typical CSP math classroom.
Here are some problem - solving strategies that can be applied:
Looking for patterns Use a model Picture/diagram logical discussion Guess and test make a table organized list work backwards solve a simpler problem then move to complex write an equation
The most important is to have the mindset that YOU can solve it.
Parents, if your child is failing, please monitor the work completed online and reach out to his/her math teacher. In the event that you need to email your child's math teacher, please copy me on the email so that I may also assist with your concerns. My email address is ivalencia@mycsp.org
Thank you for your continued support!

Five Guys Fundraising
|
Thank you everyone who came out to the 9th grade SGA fundraising event at Five Guys a few weeks ago. We had students from all grades come in to support the 9th grade, there was even a huge amount of parents who came in without a student after they had printed the flyer out from the email sent out. Thank you to all. This will help our students pay for Prom and Homecoming in the future years, among many other events hosted by the 9th grade class. We look forward to many more successful fundraising events in the coming months.
PS: Congratulations to the students who organized and also stayed at the event. They did a great job and have much to be proud of.
