CONGRATULATIONS CSP MATH TEAM !!!
November 19th, 2016: The CSP High School Math Team has won the 3rd contest in the Anne Arundel Community College's High School Math Season. At this contest there were only 5 perfect scores on the individual round, out of the 14 schools participating. CSP was the only school to have two students accomplish this, earning them apples from the AACC math professors that organize this contest. CSP 12th graders Benjamin Kelm and Anthony Krieger each solved all six problems correctly. At this contest, the schools individual score is the average of their top three individuals. Anthony's and Ben's score was joined by their classmate, 12th grader Nina Smilek, whom scored 5 out of 6 correctly, giving CSP the high score from the individual round with 5.67 points. Other top scoring CSP students at this event included 9th grader Oumarr Bah and 11th grader Glenn Boyette whom each scored 4 of the 6 correct. In the team round, the CSP team of Anthony, Ben, Glenn and Oumarr were joined by CSP 12th grader Matthew Boyer, and together they solved 4 of the 6 team round problems correctly, giving CSP the high score for this contest and extending their lead on the season tally, with two competitions remaining.

After three of the five AACC High School Math Competitions so far this season, the top six schools in overall standings are:

30.00 points - Chesapeake Science Point
27.00 points - Severna Park High School
19.33 points - The Severn School
18.67 points - South River High School
15.33 points - The Key School
15.33 points - Archbishop Spalding

CSP was represented at today's competition by:

8th grade: Cole Parker
9th grade: Oumarr Bah
10th grade: Hana Motta, Ayomikun Oyemade, Connor Parker, Cecilia Ramirez, Bosith Weerasinghe and Stanley Zhu
11th grade: Glenn Boyette and Kaitlin White
12th grade: Matthew Boyer, Benjamin Kelm, David Kravets, Anthony Krieger and Nina Smilek

Thank you for the hardwork and dedication of the students and their coaches as well as support of CSP family.

Coaches: Mr. Vincent Njong, Mrs. Imelda Valencia
Parent volunteer coaches: Mr. Bernie Kelm and Mr. Jim Powers

E-Free School

CSP is an E-Free school! If a high school student receives an E as a final grade in anyclass, the class will have to be repeated outside of CSP. Middle School Dance
A huge THANK YOU to the CSP Middle School parents and students who made the Middle School Dance a success!!! We could not have done it without the generous donations from parents and our volunteer chaperones. Student Council members and parent volunteers also worked hard organizing, setting up, and cleaning up after. An outstanding team effort resulted in a fun night for all!!!!

Notes for Parents of Seniors

Many college application deadlines are around the corner. Please support your seniors as they complete applications, and encourage them to work closely with Dr Gonzalez to meet all deadlines. If your senior is applying for financial aid, you should submit the FAFSA now. You should also submit the College Board CSS Profile ASAP if it is required by any of your child's schools.

Notes for Parents of Juniors

Juniors are responsible for registering for standardized tests. There are several opportunities to take the SAT and ACT in the second semester. We recommend that each student takes the SAT at least twice; at least once in the spring of their junior year, and at least once early in the fall of their senior year. Juniors should see Dr Gonzalez with any questions. Also, if you need help logging onto Family Connection, please contact Dr Gonzalez.

THANK-YOU
Thankful to All
Dear Parents/Guardians,

Our school has completed our first quarter and are well into our second.
As we reflect on the many things for which we are thankful, I want to take this opportunity to share just a few of them with you: We are thankful for our students who come to school every day ready to learn – they give us all a daily reminder of what is important and why we are here.We are thankful for the support of the parents in creating an outstanding partnership for our students. We are thankful for the parents that have kept the faith in us. They continue to share their most valuable possession with us and—in most cases— work hard and advocate to be a partner in their children’s education, safety and well-being. For this, we are ever so thankful.

I would like to wish all of you and your families a happy, healthy and relaxing Thanksgiving holiday!
