Do You Want to Get Certified by Microsoft?
Dear Parents,

I'd like to inform you about the new program that we are implementing in our computer classes for Microsoft Office Certifications. It is called GMetrix.

GMetrix online practice tests for Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certification are designed to replicate the certification exam experience so test takers can better prepare themselves for test day. The practice tests use the same exam format as the certification exams and are mapped to the certification objectives so a test-taker is assured that he/she is learning and practicing the skills that will help him/her pass the certification exam.

• GMetrix accurately replicates a "live application" testing environment.
• Enhances learning through self-paced practice questions.
• Builds familiarity with the testing environment.
• Better prepares students to pass certification exams.

I'd like to thank CSP administration for their support to bring this program to CSP.

PSAT/NMSQT (The Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test)
The Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) is a standardized test administered by the College Board and cosponsored by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) in the United States. Approximately 3.5 million students take the PSAT/NMSQT each year. The scores from the PSAT/NMSQT are used to determine eligibility and qualification for the National Merit Scholarship Program.
CSP would like our parents to know that unlike the rest of AACPS, we will cover all cost associated with taking the exam.In addition to the test being cost-free, CSP will also not be moving the exam day to a Saturday. We will keep the exam during the school day on Wednesday, October 19, 2016. Therefore, all 11th grade students will take the exam on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 and it will be free of charge.

9th Grade SGA
We are actively looking for any 9th grade student interested in running for student government. The SGA is an important facet of our school. Involvement in the SGA allows for students to actively participate in our school's decision making process. Joining the organization looks great on college applications and helps to build leadership skills that will be useful in the coming years. Any student interested should see Mr. Meyer for information and an application.
