They earned first place in the team round and first place in the written individual round for the 2016 Cardercock Math contest. The contest was held at Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock, Bethesda, Md. and participants included students from schools in Virginia, Washington DC and Maryland.
Representing CSP included the following students and coaches: 6th grade: Nathanial Hardyman and Raine Ingulia 7th grade: Isa Liggans, Om Mehta, Akash Prasad, Anagha Sandeep and Emily Zhu 8th grade: Oumarr Bah Coaches: Mrs. Lyniper Al-Os, Mr. Vincent Njong, and Mrs. Imelda Valencia
Oumar Bah earned first place in the written individual round and first place in the team round with his teammates Isa Liggans, Om Mehta, and Anagha Sandeep.
The team not only enjoyed the contest, but the presentation by the DARPA personnel on Haptix: Hand Proprioception and Touch Interfaces for Prosthetic Limbs and the guided tour. The tour at the Harold E. Sauders Maneuvering and Safekeeping facility gave the students the chance to see real life applications of the mathematics concepts they are learning about.
CSP Math team continues its success due to the support of our parents/guardians, Mr. Gurbuz, our principal, the whole CSP staff and the dedication of the coaches.

Please visit the sign up genius to help support our teachers during Teacher Appreciation Week May 2-6, 2016. Please stop the front desk with your donations. There are 45 staff members at CSP. http://www.signupgenius.com/go/508084da5ac22a20-cspteacher/

A message from the PAC...

CSP Parent Athletic Committee
Hi Parents / Guardians!
CSP Athletics has been busy this year with fall soccer, basketball, and now track. We are looking forward to warmer weather:)
Most of you are familiar with the PAC (Parent Athletic Committee), but some of you are not.
The PAC was started 2 years ago in CSP's Inaugural Athletic Season. It was created as a support group for student athletes. It was very successful the first 2 years and able to fund uniforms, busing, equipment and meet fee's.
This year the PAC is lacking leadership and needs YOUR HELP!!!
All of the time consuming, set-up work has been done!
Your student athletes need a few parents to step up and support CSP Athletics with just a few hours per month.
Please contact the PAC at cspathletics@gmail.com and let us know how you can help!

Ms. Cunning's field trip to the Newseum was a huge success...
|
A message from Ms. Cunning...
The 9th and 10th grade student trip to the Newseum was a huge success. When asked about their favorite part of the trip, the first response for many was the food, but they also enjoyed seeing a piece of the Berlin Wall, the special exhibit on the Presidential dogs, and the interactive newsroom where many were able to play the role of a reporter and broadcast the news. "It was cool knowing how it felt to be in front of a camera," said Jairo, 10th grade.
