Re-Enrollment for 2016-2017
An email was sent out to all parents just a few days ago about re-enrollment for 2016-2017. Everything you need to know about this process is included here. Be sure to go over the cover letter prior to making your decision.

If your child needs bus transportation for the 2016-17 school year, you must turn in the bus contract AND deposit with the re-enrollment form.

Re-enrollment forms and bus contracts are due no later than February 26th. If the re-enrollment form is not turned in OR turned in after the deadline, it will result in your child losing their seat for next year.

To confirm that your child's re-enrollment form has been received, you can send an email to confirmCSP@mycsp.org. This email will be checked weekly and you will receive a reply.

The National Aquarium and Climate Central invite Middle and High School students (Grades 5-8 and 9-12) from across Maryland, Delaware and Washington DC to participate in a contest that examines some of the impacts of climate change.
Please submit an entry that identifies the audience for your presentation and answers one or more of the specific questions below:

How is climate change affecting weather, the environment, and biodiversity both locally and globally?
How is climate change impacting the oceans, including: ocean life, ocean currents, rising sea levels, and coastal habitats?
Explain the role of science in understanding our changing climate.
How are rising atmospheric greenhouse gases changing our weather, oceans, animal and plant life, water resources, and more?
How will science help us solve climate change?
How do you see climate change impacting the people in your community and their jobs?
Are any of the following playing a part: agricultural practices (adding to or reversing climate change); warming and acidifying Bay waters (changing habitat); more extreme weather events, etc.?
Do you see opportunities to build a greener or more resilient economy?
What’s going on in your community to fight climate change?
Is there an individual person you’d like to tell us about, or an action that’s making a difference?

In remembrance of Christa McAuliffe
In 1985, she was selected from more than 11,000 applicants to participate in the NASA Teacher in Space Project and was scheduled to become the first teacher in space. As a member of mission STS-51-L, she was planning to conduct experiments and teach two lessons from Space Shuttle Challenger. On January 28, 1986, the shuttle broke apart 73 seconds after launch. After her death, schools and scholarships were named in her honor, and in 2004 she was posthumously awarded the Congressional Space Medal of Honor.
