All Maryland high school girls are invited to register for the 8th annual Maryland STEM Career Fair for Girls, a completely virtual event on December 8 from 6-8 PM. If your child misses a class, they have the opportunity to attend flex learning time and teacher office hours to make up the live lesson that they missed. The flex learning and teacher office hours must take place within 7 days of the absence. If this happens, the teacher will go back and mark the student present for the class that they missed. If the child is absent and unable to participate in flex learning and/or teacher office hours, then you will submit an absence note for your child's absence. All absence notes are being submitted via the form located on our website. The weeks before the holiday break will be dedicated to early political parties, and 2 notable figures: Hamilton and Jefferson. We'll learn about the differences in political philosophies, and try to determine our own opinions. There will be lots of student participation.

The weeks before the holiday break will include an intensive exploration of the Great Depression Era. Students will supplement their knowledge with a novel study, through their English curriculum. The English and Social Studies departments are excited to provide students with an engaging, multi-disciplinary experience.
