CSP's Virtual Science Fair 2020 - December 21 - Deadline to Submit Project
Good Morning Parents, While we at CSP science know that 2020 is not your typical year, we wanted to allow students the opportunity for a little bit of the familiar in the form of the annual science fair. This year at CSP, students in Science will be given an opportunity to complete an independent science project during the first semester. The project is completely optional and will not impact the student’s grade in any science class. The project involves following the scientific processes and teaches students how scientists approach problems. The project will include a google slides presentation and a video presentation of the student going over the google slides presentation and presenting other findings they would like to share with the judges. This video will be presented to other students, faculty, and community members, and will become public for viewing purposes. Our Science Fair follows the rules designed by the Intel National Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF). Students may choose a topic from any of the eighteen categories recognized by ISEF. Students will have the opportunity to enter their project in the county and regional science fairs if they score well at the school level. There are prizes, awards, and scholarships available to students who do well at the school, county, and regional fairs. If your child is interested in completing a project this year, please have them complete the following tasks: 1. Register for the google classroom using the enrollment code: lsmki3v 2. Complete the Science fair intent form 3. Come visit Mr. Vadalia for information, clarification, or other help during either 2A (Tuesdays 10:40-11:25) or 4A Flex (Fridays 10:40-11:25) using the google classroom meet link. 4. Begin work on the research project.

AACPS Winter Sports
AACPS Winter Sports Updated November 16, 2020 · The MPSSAA winter sport season is scheduled to run from December 7, 2020, through February 13, 2021. · Please understand that AACPS opening up registration for winter sports does not guarantee we will have in-person activities this season. Based on the current metrics in our county, we believe we may be starting the winter season virtually. While it is our goal to engage with student-athletes in-person, we want families to be aware of the reality that winter sports may start and or remain virtual throughout the season. Our level of involvement is contingent upon a collaborative effort between the school system and the Department of Health to monitor and evaluate COVID-19 health and safety metrics, including the case incidence rate (the average number of new cases per 100,000 residents over a seven-day period). · Communication on the current status of our sports programs will come from the AACPS Office of Athletics in conjunction with the AACPS Communications Office. Schools will not make county-wide announcements on their own. They will provide status updates and information provided by the county to their coaches and communities as soon as they become available. · Athletes who want to participate in the winter season are expected to register and begin attending sessions when the season starts (whether virtual or in-person). Attendance will be taken at all sessions. · AACPS high schools will be opening winter sports registration for student-athletes by December 1, 2020. We are doing so in order to be prepared to engage with student-athletes both virtually and in-person (when it is safe to do so). Once open, registration closing will be based on numbers, staffing, and other school-based factors. In the event the winter season transitions from virtual to in-person, schools may, but are not required to, reopen registration. Those decisions will be made at the school level and will depend on registration and virtual participation numbers at the time.
