First Marking Period Observations
|
Hello CSP Families,
I hope that you all are well. Can you believe that exactly two weeks from today, the First Marking Period ends? Last week, the Leadership team and I reviewed the data for First Marking Period Interim grades. We discovered that many students, at that time, had D’s and E’s. Through further analysis, it was determined that many of our students are not submitting assignments on time or even completing assignments. Last Spring, during the fourth making period, students’ grades were carried over from the third marking period, or students were given extra time to make up missing work. That is not the case this year. Students will not be given the extra time to make up work or submit late work. It is our goal for all students to be successful.
I would like to offer some helpful tips to help get your student back on track or remain on track.
• Please check your students’ assignments before they submit
• Register your email to all your student’s teachers’ Google Classrooms so that you
can see what has been assigned and when assignments are due.
• Every Tuesday morning, you and your student should check the gradebook for any
missing assignments.
• If there are missing assignments, please make sure that your student submits the
assignment within the accepted time frame for late assignment submission.
• Have your student participate in Flex Learning and teacher office hours if they miss
a class period or do not understand a concept.
As we are now entering the administration window of Quarterly Assessments, to maintain a secure testing environment, ALL cameras are required to be on whenever an assessment is given. The assessments include, but are not limited to, Quarterly, End of Unit, Quiz, and AP Exams. Please have a conversation about this requirement with your student. As always, we greatly appreciate your unyielding support, and thank you for being such great stakeholders!
Please contact me if you have any questions about grades. Take care and have a great weekend.
Warm regards,
Principal Jefferson

If your child misses a class, they have the opportunity to attend flex learning time and teacher office hours to make up the live lesson that they missed. The flex learning and teacher office hours must take place within 7 days of the absence. If this happens, the teacher will go back and mark the student present for the class that they missed.
If the child is absent and unable to participate in flex learning and/or teacher office hours, then you will submit an absence note for your child's absence. All absence notes are being submitted via the form located on our website.
