Welcome CSP Tigers! - Mr. Jefferson
Hello CSP Parent and Families! Welcome to 2020-21! As we plan for a beginning like none that we have seen in the past, our focus will still be to ensure that: every child, every day is finding a way to feel connected, every child, every day is being challenged by new learnings and experiences, and every child, every day knows they have a Tiger Teacher/Counselor to whom they can turn.

Welcoming Ms. Conboy to the CSP Staff
A message from Ms. Conboy... My name is Shelby Conboy and I currently live in Baltimore city with my dog, Maggie. I graduated from Goucher College with my M.A.T. in Special Education and have been working with children with special needs for almost ten years. I love hiking, baking, relaxing at the beach and spending time with my friends and family! I look forward to being a part of the Chesapeake Science Point family and I can't wait to meet the students!

A message from Ms. Combs... I’m Taylor Combs, and I’m really excited to get started! I went to St. Mary’s College of Maryland, and stayed in St. Mary’s County to teach for the past three years. I am looking forward to meeting my new students and learning new things this year!

Welcoming Ms. DiMarco to the CSP Staff
A message from Ms. DiMarco... I’m from Scranton, PA (if you are familiar with the Office, then you know where it is!). I went to University in PA and received my certification in Secondary English form Misericordia University. I just moved to Maryland from Arizona last year. I’ve been teaching for over 9 years, and my main focus has always been AP Language and Composition. I also work as an AP Language and Comp rater (essay grader) in the summer. I also enjoyed working as a speech and debate coach and a cooperating teacher for student teachers. I enjoy my family very much. I live with my husband, baby girl Ceci, and dog Charlie. I have a happy, healthy 8 month old who is extremely happy and strong. I enjoy fitness and cooking in my downtime.

Welcoming Mr. Gwinn to the CSP Staff
A message from Mr. Gwinn... My name is Dylan Gwinn and I have lived in the Baltimore area for my entire life. I graduated from Washington and Jefferson College located in Washington, PA this past Spring. At Washington and Jefferson I played Division III Water Polo, was a member of the Green Club on campus, and was the chorister and art chairman for my fraternity (I can't sing and I have no artistic skill whatsoever). I have four siblings (older sister and brother and a younger sister), two crazy dogs (In the picture, Cleo is the one that looks like a baby cow on the left and Camden is the dopey looking one on the right), and I am an avid sports fan and reader. Although this is clearly not the way I expected to start my career, I am still so excited to get started at CSP and be a contributing member of this community!

Welcoming Ms. Heyde to the CSP Staff
A message from Ms. Heyde... Hello and thank you so much for letting me join your wonderful team. My name is Kelly Heyde and I will be part of the Language Arts Department this year. I am a recent graduate of Towson's MAT program and spent my post-graduation weeks tirelessly applying for every available shelter dog on the East Coast. On May 2nd, I finally was able to bring home my pet, Peeves, and life couldn't be better. (Peeves is the black and brown bookworm pictured above). Prior to teaching, I earned my masters degree in coaching and spent five years working with college swim teams. My favorite coaching job ever also used the Tigers as their mascot. So this feels like a very natural transition. I still love swimming and will regularly look up results from whatever meet is in session. But I am happy to emerge from the pool and join you in the classroom instead. (If you ever get a whiff of chlorine though, that's just me. I'm sorry.) Outside of work, I also teach yoga and hike frequently. I hail from New England and, therefore, have a deep appreciation for fall and maintain confusing sports-fandoms. (Lets go Mets!) I am really looking forward to the school year despite its nontraditional onset. I am already so grateful for the close-knit community that Chesapeake Science Point has provided.

Welcome back to everyone to another school year. This year I am back in the high school, teaching 11th grade Honors English and our first ever film class, American Film Studies. Welcome back, CSP! - Ms. Bradley
Hi everybody! I'm so glad to be starting out the 2020-2021 school year here at CSP - albeit in some bizarre circumstances. It is my goal, as always, to provide students with the greatest opportunities and experiences to find success. For those who don't know me, I'm Ms. Bradley. I wear many hats that allow me to give back to the school: 8th grade English teacher, 8th-grade Interdisciplinary Team Leader, Student Leadership Advisory - middle school student council advisor and, stepping back some, high school student government association co-advisor - spelling bee coordinator, creative writing co-advisor day club (during synchronous learning), and coolest teacher at the school! 😉 My background includes two undergraduate degrees from Indiana University of Pennsylvania (B.S.Ed. in English Education and B.A. in Music), a master's degree from Walden University (M.S.Ed. in Teacher Leadership), and I'm currently working on a degree from Towson University to completed by the end of this academic year (C.A.S. Organizational Change Leader - administration I certification). For those who have known me, I've had a very exciting summer from teaching ELA 6-8 summer school virtually and buying a house over on Kent Island with my fiancé with a big backyard for my dog, Toby, and lots of space to explore for my cat, Catsby. The best part of my summer though certainly has been prepping to come back to school! I'm excited to see you all again - if it is in the school (eventually) or simply virtually.

Questions? Seek out Ms. Bradley (nbradley@mycsp.org) in room 107!

Welcome Back - Mr. Vadalia
Welcome To The 2020 School Year I wanted to take a quick second to introduce myself as Mr. Vadalia. I will be serving the school community as the science and technology department chair for the upcoming year. Our focus for the year will be to engage students in whichever mode of instruction the county decides through various uses of inquiry labs, online simulations, and hands on practice when applicable. I will also oversee the MDOT bridge builder club and High School Science Olympiad teams. On a personal level, I live in Laurel with my lovely wife and baby girl of 1. I hope to get to know both you and your students more this upcoming year.

Welcome Back!
Hello everybody and welcome back to CSP! I understand that this is not the way any of us had hoped to kick off the new school year. Learning science from a distance provides unique challenges, and I want to let you know that I am here for you and your students. Not only will we get through this, but we will be stronger for it. If you have any questions at all, please do not hesitate to contact me!

Ms. Dixon Says "Welcome!"
Welcome, everyone! I'm so excited to meet my new students, and to see my returning students again. I hope that everyone has had a restorative summer, and are ready to tackle this new challenge of virtual synchronous learning. I spent the summer with my two young children, and was able to watch them reach new milestones (crawling, walking, talking and riding a bike), all of which I would have missed had we not been home in quarantine together; I'm so grateful for the time we've had, but I'm ready, now, to get back to teaching and learning! We are going to have a fantastic year in Science! I'm truly excited to try out some of the new technology and skills I've acquired this summer, in preparation for virtual learning. Can't wait to see your lovely faces!!

Welcome Back! - Mr. Thompson
Welcome back to a unique school year in our history! I am Chris Thompson and this is my second year at CSP. This is such a great place to work and I am excited to teach the entire 10th Grade again this year for U.S. Government and Politics. We are in critical times with public policy, civic engagement, and an election year. Simply put, I cannot wait to begin our discussions and it is my personal goal to make synchronous learning as close to the physical classroom setting as possible! Over the past six months (since our stay-at-home time began) my wife and I have been fortunate to have extra time with our son, who is almost 2. I hope our CSP families are doing well and that we can see each other soon. Thank you.

We are BACK!! - Ms. Conley
Hello CSP Tigers: So glad to be back and grinding the gears to start up the school year! This summer was very different than previous years, as I am sure it was for most of our students and families, but I loved getting back outside with my sons and unplugging for as long as possible. 2020 has been a very historical year and I look forward to teaching my 6th/7th grade students about history as well as students that join me in my club activity. Welcome back and here's a great year!

Nurse Patty
Greeting from the Nurse Patty. I welcome all the returning students back to school as well as new students to Chesapeake Science Point! I worked this summer in Annapolis on a COVID hotline answering questions to the the public about the virus, taking concerns about people or businesses not complying with the recommendations of safety, and scheduling people for testing, etc. Normally I would be working with a special need student in summer school, but this was cancelled. We have all faced changes in our lives and challenges during this time. I hope you all are doing well and have a transition to the school year that is not too difficult or stressful. Keep strong and know that we will return to school as we knew it as soon as our health officials tell us it is safe. Best of health to you and your families.
