Our Run Club recently had their first time trial and are looking great! Just a friendly reminder that all participants need to be in proper running attire, especially being dressed for the cold! We will not run outside under 40 degrees or for any potential ice concerns. Our future meetings where the weather is below 40 degrees, we will be inside for our activity. Thank you for a great start to this club and for those participating!

Friday A / B Schedules
|
Parents,
As you are aware, we do not have a set pattern for Fridays. It appears like they rotate, but actually sometimes there are two even three Fridays in a row that are A days. We do this to make sure there are an even number of A and B days in each quarter.
I have attached a copy of the Friday A/B schedule.

ACT/SAT Registration Dates - LAST OPPORTUNITY FOR SENIORS!
|
Seniors have one last chance to sit for the ACT and/or SAT prior to college admission deadlines.
ACT - December 14th
SAT - December 7th
Most college applications require students to submit their SAT or ACT score, making taking the exam an absolute must. In addition to it being a requirement, colleges and universities receive thousands of applications every year. The scores on the SAT and ACT allow them to narrow down the playing field and make decisions on acceptance. In addition to college applications, SAT and ACT scores can be used to apply for scholarships. These are sometimes merit based scholarships, granted directly from the student's choice of college during the application process. Others may be from local, state, or regional programs where grades, academic achievements, and score affect eligibility.
The CSP Counseling Department would like to stress the importance of taking the SAT and/or ACT more than once. Studies show that students typically receive a higher score the second time they sit for the test. It would be most beneficial to take the SAT and/or ACT your junior year, then again your senior year. If you receive free or reduced lunch, you qualify for a fee waiver. The counselors have them available in their offices.
Please see attachment for all ACT & SAT registration dates and deadlines. Encourage your child to see his/her counselor if he/she needs assistance registering.

Holiday Shoppe- donations needed
|
Each year the art room sets up shop and offers students a place to buy gifts for their loved ones at low cost. Some items are new and others are gently used in great condition. All items are sold for $5 or less and the money raised is used to bring in a resident artist that will work with students over multiple days and a separate artist for an assembly. This year we will have two resident artists and one assembly which means we need to raise close to $2,000. So, as you clean house and prepare for the holidays keep an eye out for items that could be used for our holiday shoppe.
Ideas-
Toys (action figures)
like new books
Jewelry
candles
that pile of items you have ready to re-gift
Please send in all donations to Mrs. Pratt by December 13. The Holiday Shoppe will be open December 16-20.
Parents can also support the arts by making a donation that will sponsor our visiting artists. Contact Mrs. Pratt if your interested in making a difference through the arts!
