UPCOMING EVENTS
Banned and Challenged Books Week - September 22-28
For the first time ever, CSP is hosting a Banned and Challenged Books Week Celebration!!! Banned Books Week is an annual event celebrating the freedom to read. Banned Books Week was launched in 1982 in response to a sudden surge in the number of challenges to books in schools, bookstores and libraries. Typically held during the last week of September, it highlights the value of free and open access to information. Banned Books Week brings together the entire book community — librarians, booksellers, publishers, journalists, teachers, and readers of all types — in shared support of the freedom to seek and to express ideas, even those some consider unorthodox or unpopular. Each grade level will have a developmentally appropriate lesson dealing with banned books during the week. This week especially, we encourage students to read a challenged book or read about challenged books (with parent's permission, of course!) And on Friday we will culminate the week in a Banned Books Read Out where students can show their support for intellectual freedom and open access to information by reading a banned book! For more information visit https://bannedbooksweek.org/about/ Questions? Email Ms. Bulisco, English Department Chairperson at lbulisco@mycsp.org

Car Loop Directions
AM Drop-Off - All students will be dropped off via the main car loop to the back of the school. Students will remain in their car until they reach the designated drop-off zone, marked by white stripes and cones. Please pull all the way up to the front of the zone in order to accommodate as many cars as possible. Doors to the school open at 8:00AM. This time is not changed for weather conditions, so please dress and prepare accordingly. Back doors close at 8:15AM. Students arriving after 8:15AM should use the front doors. Students will be marked tardy if they are not in class by 8:20AM. If you need to visit the school for any reason before school opens, please do not park in the spaces closest to the gym sidewalk, or the spaces next to the fence on the gym side. Buses use the gym loop for AM drop-off and need extra room for maneuvering. PM Pick-up High School- If you only pick-up High School students, please use the gym-side mini car loop. Follow the arrows, entering from the side gate. PM Pick-up Middle School- If your car pool contains any middle schoolers use the main (back) car loop. All main loop car riders should report directly to the cafeteria after school. (Middle schoolers and accompanying HS students) Sit quietly and pay attention. Listen for your number to be called. Proceed outside to the loop when your number is called.
