BREAKING NEWS
CSP BOCCE TEAM WINS GOLD IN STATE COMPETITION AGAIN
CSP BOCCE TEAM WINS GOLD IN STATE COMPETITION AGAIN Our Bocce Team competed for the THIRD time in the last FOUR years in the Unified Bocce State Championships at Washington College and took FIRST PLACE in their division -- once again! Our Tigers eased through their first competition -- winning 12-3 over North Dorchester High School; but faced stiffer competition in their second and final games with teams from North Dorchester High School and Cambridge High School. While those games were won by scores of 9-6 and 12-4 respectively, the scores don’t necessarily reflect the hard-fought nature of the games! There were some lively and tense moments! Special congratulations to ALL of our team members for their dedication and enthusiasm this year! But, we especially want to say a fond farewell to the seniors on our team – Rasaq Amokomowo, who has been on the team for all of the last four years and contributed grately to the team’s success, and Alazne Jameson, one of our rookies this year who took to the sport quickly -- and did a fabulous job for the team! We trust all had fun – and learned a little something about setting goals, strategizing, and sportsmanship. (You may recall that last year we also sent a team to the state competitions who likewise won First Place in their division!)

National Honor Society 2018 Members
Congratulations to Chesapeake Science Point's newest members of the National Honor Society. Recently graduated senior, Teni Faleti guided the students through the NHS pledge after the 2017 members renewed the pledge themselves. Josh Brunk led the ceremony with the Pledge of Allegiance, the candles representing the 4 pillars: Character, Scholarship, Leadership, and Service were lit by Glenn Boyette, Teni Faleti, Asjed Tufail and Jazmine Diggs, the names of our indictees were read by Jazmine Diggs, and Sarah Rizzuto helped prepare the programs for the ceremony. Other than inducting our newest members, another highlight of the evening was our guest speaker. Charlie Cadden, a 2017 CSP graduate, gave our inductees and their family a message to remember: find out what you believe in and stick up for it, never miss an opportunity to broaden your horizons, and take the time to find out what others believe in even if it's different from you! A big thank you to Mrs. Albayrak for the cookies and help, Mr. and Mrs. Vadalia, Mrs. Ingulia and son Ander, and Mr. Jefferson for attending the ceremony. Stay tuned for several changes for next year's candidates.

SCHOOL NEWS
Summer School
Any student who failed a high school class needs to re-take that class in Summer School. Information regarding Summer School is now available at https://www.aacps.org/cms/lib/MD02215556/Centricity/Domain/261/2018%20Summer%20School%20Booklet.pdf Middle school students should contact Ms Shepherd, and high school students should contact Dr Gonzalez. Remember, CSP is a Repeat-Free School, so if a student needs to take recovery credit, they need to take those classes outside of CSP.

Repeat Free School
CSP continues to provide a rigorous and quality education to all students. It has always been our goal to improve upon past practices, find new ways to engage students and make learning something students enjoy. We also believe that high school students need to put forth that same effort in order to be become successful adults; therefore, CSP is Repeat Free. If a student receives an E in a required high school course, the class will have to be repeated in an alternate program such as summer school, evening school and twilight school. These programs are available for students to make up credits in courses that they were not successful in the first time; classes at CSP are for students taking them for original credit. If a student does not make up the failed class in one of these alternative programs, there is a chance that we will not be able to schedule the student for the classes required for graduation and the student will have to take classes at CSP for more than four years.

Immunizations
Just a friendly reminder...Due to sports physicals, vacations, etc., it may not be easy to get an appointment to make sure your child is up to date on their immunizations. As summer approaches and the new school year is nearing upon us, I would like to remind parents to bring me their child's update immunization record as they receive the MCV4 and tdap shots.
Students entering the 7th grade next year must provide this information so they can begin the school year on time.
If you have any questions, please feel free to email me.
