Chick-Fil-A Sandwiches Fundraiser
The media center will be selling Chick-Fil-A sandwiches after school on Tuesday December 19th for $5 in the cafeteria. Only cash and checks (made out to CSP) will be accepted.

Sandwiches will be available to staff, and all students who stay after school for clubs/tutoring or are car riders. Unfortunately, due to time constraints, bus riders will not be able to purchase food.

Pre-order with Ms. Gomaa in the media center to guarantee your sandwiches! Students can pre-order in the morning before the morning bell or during lunch time (with a media center lunch pass from the lunch monitors). I will order a few extra sandwiches, but if you do not pre-order, sales after school on Tuesday will be first come first serve. Thanks!

Movie Night January 19, 2018
The PTSO is excited to announce that on January 19, 2018 we plan to host a Family Movie night for all CSP students, their parents/siblings, and staff from 6-10 pm. There is one catch – to hold this great event we need several parent volunteers (meaning- we need you!) who can assist at the event and we need to know now, so there is ample time to complete and submit the background check info to Anne Arundel County. If you can help us pull off what promises to be a fun event, please email us at mycspptsoboard@googlegroups.com and complete the CHAPERONE/VOLUNTEER BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION ONLINE by December 8, 2017.
You can access this form on the AACPS website under the tab labeled Families.

Sincerely,
Your CSP-PTSO

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Science Fair Judges
CSP Stem Fair
Dear Fellow Pioneer of Science,

I would like to cordially invite you to the Science Fair at our School in Hanover MD. With all the support from the scientific community this memorable event will be a huge success.

Chesapeake Science Point Public Charter School(CSP) is a unique school that is proud of its large and diverse student body which are selected from a lottery based system. In partnership with students, parents, and the community, CSP provides a rigorous and quality education for middle and high school students with a special focus on science, math, and technology. By incorporating math and technology in the classroom and encouraging students to participate in an informational society, CSP students have the skills and experience to advance and excel in higher education and the workforce.

As you know, there are many science-influenced basic skills expected by employers. Our students will have to make tough decisions that no other generation has encountered and will be influenced by their understanding of emerging science and technology. Science Fairs involve the integration of Science with Technology and Engineering, which will require them to apply these skills to a topic of interest to them. A Science Fair is an essential key to understanding the scientific method and completing, therefore, have a better understanding of Science.

On Saturday, December 16, 2017 ( Snow date 12/22/17 After School hours) our hard working students will present their projects. This memorable event is expected to have around 200 projects. We are in great need of dedicated members who would like to share their enthusiasm for science by volunteering to be a judge in our Science Fair. Prior judging experience is not required; a brief judging session will be given prior to the actual judging. In appreciation of your time, breakfast, lunch, and a certificate for your sacrifice of time will be given. We anticipate the need for a minimum of 50 judges. If you know anyone else who would also be interested in helping with judging, please relay this information.

This will be a great opportunity for you to see what our school is about and to meet all the exemplary students. If you are interested in helping young students develop as future scientists and reach their full potential, please contact me immediately. We look forward to making your acquaintance. A schedule of the day is provided for your convenience.

Best regards,
