Welcome Ms. Shannon Motsco
We are pleased to announce the addition of our new Assistant Principal, Ms. Motsco.

Ms. Motsco is originally from the Midwest. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Ohio University in Mathematics and Science education. She received her Master’s in Curriculum, Instruction, and Leadership from McDaniel College. Ms. Motsco has worked in the Secondary Mathematics office of Anne Arundel County for the past six years. Prior to this she worked as a Mathematics teacher and Department Chair for Anne Arundel County. Ms. Motsco has developed a strong sense of what is needed to implement strong instruction that will help continue the academic achievements at Chesapeake Science Point.

Welcome Ms. Alicia August
We are pleased to announce the addition of a new staff member. Ms. August will be joining us in the fall as our new science teacher.

Ms. August was born and raised in northern Michigan and attended Central Michigan University. She did her student teaching in Baltimore County and spent the last five years at Hereford Middle School. She has an amazing one year old that she loves spending time with.

Welcome Ms. Nicole Bradley
We are pleased to announce a new staff member. Ms. Bradley will be joining us in the fall as our new language arts teacher.

Ms. Bradley is from Greensburg, Pennsylvania which is 45 minutes outside of Pittsburgh, PA. She attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania and she has two degrees - B.S.Ed. in English Education and a B.A. in Music. She did her student teaching in Indiana Area Junior High School teaching 8th grade English. She is in the process of moving to a new home with her boyfriend, Allen and dog, Toby. Ms. Bradley loves to travel and enjoys reading and writing during her free time.

Welcome Mr. TJ Callihan
We are pleased to announce a new staff member. Mr. Callihan will be joining us in the fall as our new technology teacher.

Mr. Callihan earned his undergrad in technology education from California University of Pennsylvania in 2009. After school he moved to Maryland from Central Pennsylvania where he took a job in Harford county. He only stayed there for a year until he moved to his last job in Queen Anne's County where he taught Project Lead The Way Engineering for the past seven years. In 2014 he earned a Master of Arts in Education in Science Engineering Technology and Math (STEM).

Welcome Mr. Matthew Cowan
We are pleased to announce a new staff member. Mr. Cowan will be joining us in the fall as our new social studies teacher.

Matt Cowan is an Annapolis resident and has been teaching social studies for the past four years at Wye River Upper School, an independent school which serves bright students with learning differences on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. There, he also held the role of National Honor Society Advisor.
He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Maryland, College Park and in 2014 he earned his Masters in Teaching from Marygrove College. Mr. Cowan has a background in experiential learning, researching 21st Century pedagogy in secondary schools, and bringing civic engagement into the classroom.

Welcome Ms. Lauren Vernamonti
We are pleased to announce a new staff member. Ms. Vernamonti will be joining us in the fall as our new school Psychologist.

She attended George Mason University and earned a Master’s in Psychology, followed by a graduate certificate in School Psychology. She has always worked in Anne Arundel County Public Schools. She enjoys spending her free time traveling, hiking, and doing yoga.

If you see Ms. Vernamonti, please take a moment to welcome him to the CSP family.
