BRING YOUR REFILLABLE WATER BOTTLE TO SCHOOL
Students should bring a REFILLABLE WATER BOTTLE to use throughout the school day. Students can no longer drink directly from the water fountain. All water fountains were converted in to water dispensers in 2021.

FACE MASK ARE OPTIONAL ~ BRING YOUR OWN MASK
CMIT South MS/HS Families, ~ PGCPS announced a Mask Optional Policy for all schools starting on September 6, 2022; therefore we will NO LONGER PROVIDE MASKS for students. ~ If your student prefers to wear as mask, please send masks to school with your student to keep in their locker.

Greetings CMIT Students! GREAT NEWS! I have created an appointment slots calendar for Drop in Tuesdays during 4th Period and Drop in Fridays during 1st Period every week! These appointments are open to ALL CMIT students and fill up pretty fast be sure to schedule your desired time with me as soon as possible! Are you looking to speak to Ms.Tutt but don't know when or how? Volleyball TOURNAMENT Games This Week
The volleyball team won their first round tournament game this past week to advance to the Region Semifinals on Monday. The game will be played here at CMIT South against College Park Academy. The game starts at 6pm. If the team wins on Monday, they will advance to the Region Finals on Wednesday and will play the winner of the CMIT North vs. Largo game. Tickets to all games must be purchased online at Ticket Spicket https://events.ticketspicket.com/. Search CMIT South to find the games as they get closer to the date. We hope to see you come out and cheer on the team as they continue to pursue a Region championship!!

District Wide College Fair!!! - November 10, 2022!!!
Juniors, Seniors, and Parents!!! The Office of College Readiness and Student Services will host a district-wide College Application Night on Thursday, November 10th, at Charles H. Flowers High School from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm, 10001 Ardwick Ardmore Road, MD 20774. The event's goal is to assist Juniors and Seniors with understanding the process of going to college. The event will allow our families to participate in FAFSA, MSFAA, and Scholarship workshops, where they will learn critical steps in completing FAFSA. The night will consist of a college fair where students can speak with over 30 colleges and university admissions counselors and possibly gain on-site admittance and waived application fees. Trev the Tiger Mascot Tryouts and Application
Greetings Tenacious Tigers! If you are interested in trying out for Trev the Tiger Mascot please read below and complete the application located at this website: https://forms.gle/B1dGC249y88QW24d6 Try-out Procedures: Tryouts for Trev the Tiger CMIT South MS/HS Mascot will take place on Friday, November 11, 2022 from 3:00-4:30 pm in the gymnasium. Your transportation must be on time for pick up. Applications are due by 11:59 pm on Wednesday, November 9, 2022. You will be asked to wear the Mascot uniform and complete the following tasks in front of 3-5 judges: Skit: You will perform a 2-3 minute original skit. You may bring up to three “human friends” to help enact your skit, but they should not be the main focus. Props: Props are encouraged but not required. Pantomime/Character: Be able to show the following emotions: a. Happy b. Sad c. Excited d. Scared e. Embarrassed f. Sneaky g. Impatient h. Shy Improvisation Situations: The mascot should be able to respond to the following situations: a. Greeting children b. Interacting with other mascots c. Your team is losing badly d. Your team has just won and the school fight song begins playing Mascot Contract Agreement: (Be prepared to sign and initial contract at try-outs) Your application submission indicates that you have read and understand the following: 1. If selected, I agree to serve as the CMIT South MS/HS Mascot for the entire academic year. I understand that the majority of the appearances will take place after school, on weekends, or during evenings. 2. Being the Mascot is a major personal and physical commitment. 3. The CMIT South MS/HS Mascot plays an important role in the academic and athletic programs at CMIT South MS/HS. As such, I am an official representative of the CMIT South MS/HS community and will behave in a way that upholds the character and integrity of CMIT South MS/HS Public Charter Academy. 4. I am expected to participate in all required events (attached). 5. If I am unable to attend a required event, I will inform Mr. Smith (ksmith@cmitsouth.org) at least one week in advance and help find a replacement for that event. 6. **I agree to maintain anonymity as the CMIT South MS/HS Mascot throughout the entire contract period. I agree to not reveal this information to anyone. Disclosing my role as the Mascot may result in dismissal.** 7. I will promote positive school spirit through leadership and setting a positive example. 8. I may be asked to attend cheer practices to learn routines and skits to perform. 9. I am responsible for coming up with my own appropriate shtick and routines to be performed at events and all home sporting games. What is the Uniform Policy?

How do we order uniform items?

Families wishing to purchase uniform in store may visit:

Do I have to purchase uniforms from this vendor?

No, however, uniforms purchased from other vendors must have 100% identical color tone and the CMIT South logo. The current uniform vendor provides donation to the CMIT South PTO based on sales. Each uniform purchased is contribution to the school. 


What is CMIT South's Daily Schedule?
8:20am - 8:40am:
- Student arrival (drop off is at the side entrance)
- Doors close at 8:40am (after 8:40am parents need to sign late students in at the Front Office)

8:20am - 8:45am:
- Homeroom (Breakfast is available during this time until 8:45am)

8:45am - 2:49pm for 6th & High School grades and 8:45am - 2:54pm for 7th & 8th grades: 
- Academic instruction

2:49/2:54pm - 3:10 pm: 
Student pick-up outside (Students who are not picked up by 3:10pm will be waiting outside for their ride. There is no adult supervision for these students during this time).

Clubs and enrichment activities will begin immediately following dismissal. All club/enrichment participants must report directly to the cafeteria. Students who continuously fail to report directly to their designated locations will lose the privilege to participate in any after school activities. 

How do I pay for my child's lunch?
Breakfast and lunch are served every day. You can add money to your child's account by visiting this link. You can also pay by cash or money order in the cafeteria. 

Can my child bring their own lunch to school?
Students can bring a lunch from home. Lunches can be stored in the student's locker. Lunch taken to lunch room should be consumed in lunch room. Student cannot return to locker after lunch. All lunch bags should be left in lockers if student do not wish to place in bins after lunch. Lunch bags are not allowed in class.

What do they serve for school lunch?
A monthly menu is provided by Food and Nutrition Services. Click here for lunch and breakfast menu.

What is the academic calendar?
CMIT South MS/HS follows the Prince George's County Public School calendar found here. To receive notifications of PGCPS school cancellations by providing information here.

Where can I find information about CMIT events and updates?
Every Friday CMIT South MS/HS publishes its weekly newsletter. It is HIGHLY recommended that you subscribe to the newsletter. It is a vital means of communication between CMIT South and stakeholders.
