Happy Friday! I hope your week has gone well. Please see special reminders below: Seniors So much to consider when applying for colleges and schools. However did you consider the immunizations required for entrance? Many admissions are not complete unless immunizations are current. Take the time to consider immunizations and their timeline for completion, make appropriate doctor visits to leave adequate time to ask questions and fulfill immunization requirements. Some may be administered over a few months. Something to keep in mind. Visit your perspective school's Health site and/or admissions department. https://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/imz-managers/coverage/teenvaxview/groups/college.html Allergy and Asthma Allergy and asthma season is around the corner. If your child suffers from either of the two or both and use a relief inhaler occasionally please consider having an up-to-date Medication Authorization form and appropriate medications in the Health Room. We made it! Also, due to the current low COVID-19 transmission rates, PGCPS is discontinuing the required weekly student athlete testing for Spring Sports. Ms. O'Daniel's Class Update
Greetings! There are many updates for each class, so please read everything under your section. If there are any questions or concerns please email bodaniel@cmitsouth.org for clarification. Please remember that it is expected that all scholars have a CHARGED chrome book to be successful in class everyday. It has come to my attention that many scholars are not coming prepared to class and thus are not completing their assignments. Scholars may not move their seats to charge their chrome book due to safety protocols. Please check SchoolMax on a regular basis to stay up to date on your scholars grades in government as the quarter is halfway over already. Scholars are encouraged to attend Saturday Academy to work on their missing assingments. AP Government and Politics: -AP Testing vs MCAP: As discussed in class there have been some changes to the testing requirement for the AP Scholars. If you are taking the AP Government and Politics Exam May 2, 2022 you do not have to take the MCAP state test. However, if you are NOT taking the AP Government and Politics Exam you will be required to take the MCAP Exam which is the state requirement for graduation. If you have not paid for the AP exam you have until March 15, 2022 to do so, or you will be charged a cancellation fee of $40.00.   If you have any questions or concerns about paying for the exam, please have your grown ups contact Ms. O'Daniel at bodaniel@cmitsouth.org or Ms. Jones at gjones@cmitsouth.org immediately.   -Saturday Academy Test Prep: Starting March 19, 2022 One session of Saturday Academy will be devoted to preparing for the AP Exam which is May 2, 2022. It is strongly encouraged that any scholar taking the test attend these sessions. Please use this form to communicate which session your scholar will be attending so that the schedule can be made moving forward. Extra Credit will also be offered to those who attend the test prep. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdFmLL5e_um4w4oTwTuwI0uwa5p5M7MJcOgxApbyR4KT2bbQw/viewform?usp=sf_link LSN Government: -Unit five is coming to a close, meaning we only have two more units to study. Scholars will begin MCAP preparation soon as the test will be in the spring. All scholars must take the MCAP exam as a graduation requirement. There will be resources posted on Canvas as well for scholars to begin their preparation on their own. Please use this google form to communicate which session works best for you and stay tuned for the final schedule which will be coming at a later date. https://forms.gle/E4tmBSBDgqBhSWfK6 -Saturday Academy is held every Saturday in two sessions; the first being 9:00-10:30 and the second 10:45-12:30. I strongly encourage ANY scholar with MISSING ASSIGNMENTS attend Saturday Academy to devote some time to improve their grade as we are halfway through the third quarter.
