Covid Home Test Kits
This week, all students and staff received one KN95 mask and 1 Covid home test kit. Students are asked to administer the test, following the directions on the box, on Sunday before returning to school on Monday. Students who have had a confirmed positive Covid test in the last 90 days should not test to avoid receiving a false positive result. All test results, positive and negative, should be uploaded in the districts' data base before coming to school on Monday. Students will receive a personalized email sent to their PGCPS.org email to upload their results. If your test returns negative you are able to come to school. If your results are positive, please stay home and send an email to nurse@cmitsouth.org. We will contact you with your next steps. For More information on PGCPS Covid related resources, visit the following: https://www.pgcps.org/coronavirus/resources/covid-19-update-return-to-in-person-learning

Transcript Requests
Good Day Seniors!  Welcome back to in person learning!  I see that many of you have been submitting your college applications before the application deadline date, KUDOS to you!  I am receiving emails requesting for me to send transcripts to colleges. I am not the person that will send your "official" transcript. Colleges are requesting an "official" transcript. A transcript is considered "official" only if it is signed and sealed, or sent directly to the recipient from a School Transcript system.  You will need to submit your requests using this link:  https://pgcpsmd.scriborder.com/  ; This link is also notated in my email signature.  The exception of when I can submit a transcript to a college, is when the college provides its own platform for transcript submissions (Similar to that of Bowie State or Morgan State); other wise, you will need to submit a transcript request through the link I provided.  I can always provide you with a copy of your "unofficial" transcript, however, "unofficial" transcripts are not accepted for college application requirements.  I am very PROUD of ALL of you for taking the next step in your upcoming new chapter. I am ALWAYS here to support and assist in any way that I can.

Ms. O'Daniel's Class Update
Greetings! It has been a busy time in room 329! Please remember that scholars will no longer be allowed to move their seats to charge their computers as this violates the seating charts needed for contact tracing with Covid-19. It is vital that scholars come to class with a charged chrome book so they can engage in their assignments for the day, also please understand that cell phones are not permitted in class unless instructed by myself on very rare occasions. Scholars will not be permitted to complete their work on their cell phones in the event that their chromebook is not charged, or forgotten. Please remember that the second quarter ends on February 3, 2022 and all grades for the second quarter must be entered by then. Scholars are allowed to make up missing assignments on Canvas, however, all missing work must be turned in by Friday January 28, 2022 in order to allow myself time to grade the assignments and ensure the gradebook is accurately reflective of the scholar's grade. We are still learning up until the end of the quarter, so makeup grades will get completed after current work is graded. Here's an update for each specific class: LSN Government: We are currently in unit four which is the legislative branch of government. Scholars have learned the lawmaking process, and are currently learning about how the federal government manipulates the economy through tools such as monetary policy. AP Government and Politics: We have just finished Unit 3 and are about to enter into Unit 2: Interactions Among Branches of Government. With the AP Exam quickly approaching (May 2, 2022) we have decided to begin offering AP Review during Saturday Academy soon, so please keep that in mind if you would like your scholar to attend and be on the lookout for an official start date coming soon. I will also be sending out a Google form survey to grown-ups and scholars to receive input as to which session would work best for them (9:00-10:30 or 10:45-12:30) so that I can dedicate my energy to focusing on the needs of AP students. Comparative Religion: We will be wrapping up our five main religions that our curriculum has listed to study, and therefore we will begin to look at religions that our scholars are interested in to close out our time together. Please keep in mind the final project is due January 31, 2022 with no late work accepted. Scholars have had many days in class to work on this assignment, and have the opportunity to receive feedback before their final submission. However, I have not received any projects to look over, so if your scholar needs help please encourage them to send me their project as soon as possible for review. Thank you all for your continued support during this school year!

We would love for you to show your support by participating in the events and activities planned throughout the year. Your participation might be that of a committee member, volunteer, or as an attendee. Whatever level of participation you select, your time and involvement will certainly be appreciated.
