GENERAL NEWS
CORONAVIRUS UPDATE - LETTER FROM PGCPS CEO
Please read attached letter from Dr. Monica Goldson, PGCPS CEO related to update on Coronavirus. The CDC is recommending schools to be prepared for a potential Coronavirus outbreak. Prevention methods are typical for flu outbreaks: 1. Making sure that high touch areas are kept clean and sanitized. Door handles, soap dispenser, water fountains, desks and keyboards in computer labs, etc. 2. Please keep sick students at home until they are well and certified to return to school 3. Teach/Remind your students healthy habits such as hand washing and covering their mouth with tissue or bent arm when coughing and sneezing. 4. Avoid close contact with people who are sick and observe personal space allowances. 5. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands. The school districts and state officials will probably announce further steps if necessary but it is always best to be proactive to keep our own community safe. Thank you,

Biology TEST
Good day to all! Here is a reminder that sections 92 and 94 will have a test on Monday. Sections 91 and 93 have already completed the exam. It is a normal (which means no notes) test with a mix of multiple choice and short answers (similar to the study guide provided). It will be on the computer but the form sends me an email if the student switches tabs or reopens the assignment - resulting in a ZERO. So studying is SUPER important this weekend. All PowerPoints are online in the folders section on Edmodo, the study guide and quizizz both are useful resources, but don't forget sometimes YouTube and Khan Academy are helpful as well. Topics include, but are not limited to, DNA, RNA, transcription, translation, mitosis, and meiosis. Good luck and have a great weekend!

Buy a High School Yearbook!
Order Deadline: March 24th This is Our Moment! It is time to order your 2019-2020 CMIT South High School Yearbook! The yearbook staff is working harder than ever to make sure that this year’s yearbook is truly a representation of all that is CMIT South HS. We can’t wait to share it with you! The yearbook is already 156 pages long! The class's goal is to have every high school student on at least one page of the yearbook - so far we have an estimated 65% of the students already pictured. Each senior will have a large, half page all to themselves! Please support the hard work of the Yearbook Class by purchasing a yearbook today! In an effort to try and have the yearbooks in before the seniors graduate, the order deadline is March 24th. However, if we do not reach our order minimum by that date we will have to extend our deadline. If every senior orders a yearbook we will be able to meet our minimum order! See the attached purchasing instructions.

LAW LINKS SUMMER INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
For over 27 years, the Prince George’s County Bar Association (PGCBA) has sponsored the Law Links Summer Internship Program. The Law Links Program provides select Prince George’s County Public School students with summer employment opportunities in law firms and law-related agencies. Students have the opportunity to learn about the professional world, the legal system, and law office operations. The Program offers students personal interaction through their work experience, law-related activities, and the Law and Leadership Institute. The Law Links Program seeks to assist the students in reaching their post-high school goals, to encourage higher education as part of those goals, and to encourage other professional organizations to adopt similar programs in the ensuing years. This is a paid summer internship for students entering the 11th and 12th grade. Once selected, we assign each student to a participating law firm or law-related agency. The student is expected to work 30 to 40 hours each week throughout the Program. Included in the 30 to 40 hour week is the Law and Leadership Institute, a class that the student attends each week at the courthouse. This year, the Program will run for a seven week period, from June 22, 2020 to August 14, 2020. The application deadline has been extended and students may apply through April 5, 2020. Application form and directions for submission is attached. Should you have any questions regarding the Law Links Program, please contact/call (301) 952-3767 or napearson@co.pg.md.us.
