On behalf of the entire staff of CMIT South MS/HS, I would like to wish our entire community a great summer. We have worked hard in every way, and we are all deserving of a break. Please stay plugged in by checking your emails occasionally throughout the summer. Take some time to rest and rejuvenate. We wish you all safe travels and hope to see you back in September. HIGH SCHOOL HERE WE COME!!!

On Thursday June 13, 2019, 156 8th grade students and their families participated in a moving up ceremony organized by the 8th grade promotion parent committee. The beautiful event was attended by a guest speaker, Mr. Karaman, CEO Chesapeake Lighthouse Foundation, Admin, staff and many many family members. We are proud of the class of 2023's accomplishments and we know the best is yet to come. Roar on Tigers!!!

Character Education The End....

At this time, I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mr. Pitter, Middle
School Counselor, the entire Middle School Body of Student and Educators Staff. Thank you for the privilege of allowing me to introduce and empowering the students with knowledge of the Character Education Program which I greatly appreciate the privilege of sharing information.
Character Education falls under the umbrella of Life-Skills. For Life-Skills are "SKILLS" society expects you to know and govern yourself accordingly.
Not only were the students introduced to the importance of Life-Skills/Character
Education, they have been empowered on the following topics:

All PGCPS schools are operating on summer hours from July 1, 2019 until August 9, 2019. This means that CMIT SouthMS/HS will be opened as follows:
July 1, 2019 until August 9, 2019
7:00am - 5:30pm - Monday through Thursday (we are closed Fridays)
After August 9, 2019
7:30am - 3:00pm - Monday - Friday

SUMMER WITHDRAWAL INFORMATION
|
Families wishing to withdraw students during the summer break should note the following:
-- There is a 24-hour notice required for student withdrawal
-- Please send withdrawal requests to secretary@cmitsouth.org by filling out attached form
-- Withdrawal request should include student name, reason for withdrawal and next school/county
-- CMIT South MS/HS is opened for summer hours Monday - Thursday as published, we are not opened on Friday.
It is important to advice the school of the decision to withdraw as soon as possible.

HS Girls Volleyball
|
Open gyms start this Tuesday and Wednesday the 18th and 19th from 8-9am at CMIT South. Come in your workout clothes and gym shoes. Spandex and kneepads are not necessary for open gyms. We will end promptly at 9, so make sure you are picked up on time.
Remember you must have your permission slip signed by a parent or guardian in order to participate. If you have not turned yours in, make sure to bring it with you Tuesday morning.
If you plan to tryout in August, remember you must have your athletic physical paperwork completed and submitted. You can find all the necessary forms at https://app.formreleaf.com/organizations/cmit-south (create an account and click on athlete registration to access all the forms that you need to have completed)

Do I have to purchase uniforms from this vendor?
No, however, uniforms purchased from other vendors must have 100% identical color tone and the CMIT South logo. The current uniform vendor provides donation to the CMIT South PTO based on sales. Each uniform purchase from Minuteman Press is contribution to the school.
What is CMIT South's Daily Schedule?
8:20am - 8:40am:
- Student arrival (drop off is at the side entrance)
- Doors close at 8:40am (after 8:40am parents need to sign late students in at the Front Office)
8:20am - 8:45am:
- Homeroom (Breakfast is available during this time until 8:45am)
8:45am - 2:49pm for 6th & High School grades and 8:45am - 2:54pm for 7th & 8th grades:
- Academic instruction
2:49/2:54pm - 3:10 pm:
Student pick-up outside (Students who are not picked up by 3:10pm will be waiting outside for their ride. There is no adult supervision for these students during this time).
Clubs and enrichment activities will begin immediately following dismissal. All club/enrichment participants must report directly to the cafeteria. Students who continuously fail to report directly to their designated locations will lose the privilege to participate in any after school activities.
How do I pay for my child's lunch?
Breakfast and lunch are served every day. You can add money to your child's account by visiting this link. You can also pay by cash or money order in the cafeteria.
Can my child bring their own lunch to school?
Students can bring a lunch from home. Lunches can be stored in the student's locker. Lunch taken to lunch room should be consumed in lunch room. Student cannot return to locker after lunch. All lunch bags should be left in lockers if student do not wish to place in bins after lunch. Lunch bags are not allowed in class.
What do they serve for school lunch?
