11th Grade College Information
|
11th grade is very important in the college application process. If you have thought about or plan to apply for college, please read the below information.
Attached to this post is a checklist that will assist you and your family as you near your senior year. As we progress through the year, please make sure you are checking off the items on this list and are continuing to research and create post-secondary goals and plans.
CMIT-South MS/HS is working hard to pair with colleges and universities for presentations and visits. As they are scheduled, students will be informed. At this time, Hood College will be visiting CMIT-South HS on January 16th to speak with the 11th grade students.
I highly encourage you to reach out to colleges and universities on your own to schedule personal campus visits/tours. You can meet with financial aid advisors, academic advisors, as well as meet students on campus to get the inside-scoop about that specific school.
College Applications are typically due by November/December of your senior year. As an 11th grade student, you should be visiting colleges this school year as well as over the summer so you know which colleges/universities you would like to apply to in the Fall. We suggest applying to at least three colleges/universities.
If you have not done so already, please visit CollegeBoard and view registration information for the SAT. 11th grade students should plan to take the SAT at least once prior to the summer.
If you have questions about the college application process, please reach out to me. I am a resource that is available to all students and parents and am happy to help. :)
For the quickest response, please reach out to me via email at kamos@cmitsouth.org.

WE WANT YOUR PICTURES FOR THE MIDDLE SCHOOL YEARBOOK!
|
Get your pictures in this year's middle school yearbook!
We would like to invite all parents, guardians, family members, and students to submit photos for this year's middle school yearbook. If you have great photos of middle school events or of you and your friends just having fun, we would like to see them! Our photographers can't be everywhere this year, so help us get as many photos as possible to create a terrific book everyone will want to have. The more pictures we have, the better chance of seeing yourself and your friends in the yearbook! We want photos of sporting events, school events (Hispanic Heritage, Talent Show, school dances, Black History Celebration, etc.), and casual group photos too (you can keep the selfies though!).
We have two ways to submit photos this year and they can be submitted from now until the end of April, so upload after each event you attend throughout the year. See below and the attachments for instructions on how to use either site.
Option 1: ReplayIt Site
On this site, you can upload any school-related photos off your phone or Facebook to a school-wide photo sharing site. This allows any member of the school community to see pictures of all the things happening at school this year. Directions for setting up a ReplayIt account are attached below.
Option 2: Private Upload
If you'd rather not share your photos to the entire school community site, you can upload them strictly for yearbook use.
Here is how you can submit photos privately:
• Go to: https://images.memoryebooks.com/login
• If it does not automatically log you into the site, enter username: 411443695
• Browse to select the photo(s) you wish to upload.
• Enter information about the photo and provide contact information in case the staff needs additional information.
• Click "Save Details".
It's that easy..submit your photos today! Remember, the last day to submit photos is April 22nd, but don't wait...do it today and keep submitting as the year goes!!
**(We will review all photos and determine final yearbook content. We cannot guarantee that all submissions can be used in the book.)

January Happenings - Ms. Melchoir Classes
|
Happy New Year!! I am excited as we get ready to head into the 2nd half of the school year. I will be implementing a Rolling Agenda for each class (Harvard, Ga Tech, Texas A&M, UCLA, and Vanderbilt). The Rolling Agenda will be in a folder for each class on Edmodo, and will contain a daily record of the warm-up, classwork, and homework. Students will be responsible for checking the Rolling Agenda upon their return to class after an absence.
The STEM/Makers Fair is in two week on Jan 18. My students have worked hard in preparing their research papers and projects. We still need judges, so please, come out and help if you are able. The Judges Sign-up sheet is located on Edmodo.
I will administer Midterms between the end of January and the beginning of February. After Midterms, 7th graders will dive into Physics and 8th graders will study the body systems. I plan on teaching the 8th graders about the Reproductive System, specifically Pregnancy and the Menstrual Cycle, around the end of May (I will keep my 8th grade parents posted).
