DECEMBER 5 & 11 - PSAT 8/9 DAY FOR 8TH/9TH GRADE
CMIT South MS/HS will be administering the PSAT 8/9 to all 8th and 9th grade students - December 5th for 8th grade and December 11th for 9th grade. Please encourage your student to visit the link below for practice and sample tests. The PSAT 8/9 tests the same skills and knowledge as the SAT, PSAT/NMSQT, and PSAT 10—in a way that makes sense for eighth and ninth graders. It measures what they’re already learning, shows them whether they’re on track for college, and lets them know where they need the most improvement. That means students have time to tackle these areas long before they take the SAT. Students over 13 can share their scores with Khan Academy® to create a personalized practice experience. It’s the best way to prepare for other tests in the SAT Suite of Assessments, and it’s free. Please do not schedule any appointments to coincide with this dates and make sure your scholar is in attendance and punctual.

Greetings CMIT South Family, In an effort to keep up to date on attendance and assignments we are requesting your assistance. When a student is absent from school or has an early departure/late entry, a note or email must be provided in order to excuse the absence. Make up work is required by teachers when students have an excused absence. Please include the date(s) of your student's absence, their full name, and reason for their absence. You may refer to Administrative Procedure (AP) 5113. A copy has been attached to this blurb. If a student is absent for three consecutive days due to illness, they will need a doctor's note for the third day and beyond to be excused. Student shadow days at other schools may be excused as long as they are not consecutive. Handwritten notes must be brought to the front desk. We will make a copy for the student. This note should be taken to all of the student's teachers that they missed during their absence. If a note is sent via email it should include the same information. The email should be sent to all of the student's teachers that they will miss and secretary@cmitsouth.org should be cc'd. A list of all of the teachers' emails has been included on the back of the first quarter progress and report cards. We thank you for your support and assistance. Have a great weekend!
