Honor Roll Ceremony
|
Honor Roll Ceremony will take place on Friday. The parents of eligible students were invited via email this past week. If your child is participating, please make sure to have them wear CMIT South white oxford shirts and tie.
We are excited to celebrate achievement of more than 250 students.

High School Parent Night
|
Our very first High School Parent Night was fantastic. At our meeting we had the opportunity to discuss many different topics. We found that this meetings are so helpful for us to maintain and enhance our high school program.
We are pleased to announce that, there will be second “High School Parent Night” session on Friday, March 24 from 6:00pm- 7:00pm.
We are looking forward to see you!!!!

2nd Quarter Honor Roll Assembly
|
Friday, March 3 we will recognize students for their achievements during the second quarter Honor Roll Assembly. The following students of students will be recognized.
6th/7th Grade Assembly- 8:00-9:00 a.m. 8th/9th Grade Assembly- 9:15-10:00 a.m.
Students who received Principals Honor Roll- All "As" and a 4.0 GPA for second quarter. Students who received Honor Roll- 3.0 GPA for second quarter.
Students invited to the assembly receive invitations. Parents also receive an email. If you have more than one student, please check with your students to see which student received a notice and/or review your students report card for further clarification.
Scholars of the Month for November/December will also be recognized.
We hope to see you there!

CMIT South Soccer Update
Soccer tryouts are scheduled to be held on or about March 17th. All tryouts participants MUST have a physical on file. Physical forms dated over 1 calendar year will not be accepted. Physical forms can be obtained through the PGCPS website or from Mr. K. Young. Please be reminded that:
Students must possess and maintain at least a 2.0 GPA in order to participate in PGCPS Interscholastic Athletics. Also, remember all students are required to have a signed parent permission slip and signed medical physical evaluation form to be completed by a Licensed Physician before they may participate in any school sponsored interscholastic athletic activity.

Helping to Feed Those Who are Less Fortunate
|
The KidzCare Club at CMIT will be sponsoring a service project to help feed those in our community who are less fortunate. Our goal is to make ONE THOUSAND (1,000) sandwiches for So Others Might Eat (S.O.M.E.), an interfaith, community-based organization that exists to help the poor and homeless of our nation’s capital. On March 4, 2017 from 10am to 12pm, we will be making, bagging, and packaging sandwiches to be delivered to S.O.M.E. If you would like to volunteer or donate to this project, please contact the club sponsor, Bridget Elliott at bcelliott507@gmail.com. Final Deadline--March 2nd. Nicaragua Trip
|
There are still a few slots available for the Nicaragua Student trip at the end of June! This is an incredible chance for you and your student to learn more about and experience another culture, and to provide a meaningful service to an international community.
Although this trip is centered around service, there will be opportunities to experience Nicaraguan culture, buy souvenirs, and interact with locals.
To learn about the Nicaragua Trip, please follow these directions:

What is the Uniform Policy?
The uniform policy can be found on our website, under Students tab.
How do we order uniform items?
Uniform items can be ordered by completing the online order form: www.cmituniforms.com
Do I have to purchase uniforms from this vendor?
No, however, uniforms purchased from other vendors must have 100% identical color tone and the CMIT South logo. The current uniform vendor provides donation to the CMIT South PTO based on sales. Each uniform purchase from Minuteman Press is contribution to the school.
What is CMIT's Daily Schedule?
7:35- 7:45am:
- Student arrival (drop off is at the side entrance)
- Doors close at 7:45am (after 7:45am parents need to sign late students in at the Front Office)
7:35 - 7:57am:
- Homeroom (Breakfast is available during this time until 7:50am)
8:00am - 2:49pm for 6th&9th grades and 2:54 for 7th & 8th grades:
- Academic instruction
2:49/2:54 - 3:10 pm:
Student pick-up outside (Students who are not picked up by 3:10pm will be waiting outside for their ride. There is no adult supervision for these students during this time).
Clubs and enrichment activities will begin immediately following dismissal. All club/enrichment participants must report directly to the cafeteria. Students who continuously fail to report directly to their designated locations will lose the privilege to participate in any after school activities.
How do I pay for my child's lunch?
Breakfast and lunch are served every day. You can add money to your child's account by visiting this link. You can also pay by cash or money order in the cafeteria.
Can my child bring their own lunch to school?
Students can bring a lunch from home. Lunches can be stored in the student's locker. Microwaves are available in the cafeteria to warm food. Refrigerators are not available for students.
What do they serve for school lunch?
A monthly menu is provided by Food and Nutrition Services. Click here for lunch and breakfast menu.
What is the academic calendar?
CMIT follows the Prince George's County Public School calendar found here. To receive notifications of PGCPS school cancellations by providing information here.
