Communication
|
To improve home-school communication and expedite the process in responding parents, a contact list was generated at the beginning of the school year. Here is a copy for parents' access: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1Mts9ztKA3GnfCvQacusaP6g5CxinBydnmsHtGzq5S3MStaff email addresses are sent home with progress reports and report cards twice in a quarter. The email list is also available online; parents and students can log into CLF portal and use the "Contacts" tab to view email addresses. Staff is expected to respond emails asap but no later than 3 business days. The emails that are not responded in a timely fashion should be forwarded to the same staff member as a reminder. After that, administration should be involved. Thank you parents for your partnership.

Toastmaster's Youth Leadership Program
|
This 8-week program will be held on Saturdays. Dates will be determined based on the level of interest. There is a $10 one time fee for materials and banquet. Click here to view and fill out the interest form: https://docs.google.com/a/cmitsouth.org/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfF63zJs6ryIcbddu5rqwZzGG13bgGIL2kl5V9-rQeQLnX1CA/viewformWhat is Toastmaster's Youth Leadership Program? The Youth Leadership Program is a workshop consisting of eight one- to two-hour sessions that enable participants to develop communication and leadership skills through practical experience. The program is presented during or after school, or on weekends. Participants learn to: • Evaluate present speaking ability • Organize and give speeches • Give impromptu talks • Control voice, vocabulary and gestures • Give constructive feedback and more Each Youth Leadership Program group is limited to 25 people. Participants are selected by the sponsoring Toastmasters club or by a cooperating organization (such as a school). A local Toastmasters club serves as sponsor and provides a coordinator to present the program. The individual coordinator attends each meeting, where he or she will lead most of the presentations and counsel participants. The coordinator assigns an assistant who can fill in for the coordinator should he or she be unable to attend a meeting. Meetings generally follow a format similar to that of a Toastmasters club meeting, including an announced agenda, practice in parliamentary procedure, and the selection of presiding officers. For more information on Toastmaster’s Youth Leadership Program go to: https://www.toastmasters.org/Magazine/Articles/Teaching-Presentation-Skills-to-Kidshttps://tmyouth.wordpress.com/programs/ylp/For questions, please contact Ms. Campbell lorna463@gmail.com and Ms. Pearson ddpearson3@aol.com.

Dear Parents and School Supporters, CMIT South proudly joined Harris Teeter’s Together in Education program to help raise funds for our school. It’s easy and it’s FREE. Simply give the cashier our code, 4200, and your VIC card when you check out and your card will be linked for the entire school year. That’s it! Or, you can also add the school code online under your Harris Teeter account profile. You only have to link your VIC card once each school year. Once your card is linked, CMIT South will receive a percentage of your Harris Teeter brand (Harris Teeter, H.T. Traders, Harris Teeter Organics, HT Farmers Market and purchases in the HT Pharmacy) purchases credited back to our account. This program does not interfere with your VIC savings or cost you any money! Don’t forget to link your VIC card to our account code next time you are shopping at Harris Teeter. Thank you.
