WELCOME TO CHESAPEAKE MATH & IT NORTH - MIDDLE SCHOOL!
|
Welcome to all of our new families and welcome back to all of our returning stakeholders. School leadership has been working diligently over the Summer to prepare for the new school year.
My goals for CMITN MS this school year are to expand upon our culture to make our school and community ever stronger. Students and families will see this daily as we improve the culture for learning in the classroom and families will see this as we partner with parents to ensure we work together to guide our youth through the academic and developmental challenges of the middle school years.
Please review my Welcome Letter that was sent out via email August 21st for additional updates and information. I look forward to seeing all of our scholars on Tuesday, September 4th for the first day of school!

TEACHER ANNOUNCEMENTS

Welcome to Mrs. Crespo's Science Class
|
Greetings to all parents and students of CMIT North MS!
My name is Mrs. Natalie Crespo-Montano and this is my 6th year in the school. I graduated Bachelor of Science in Biology in Far Eastern University, and Master of Biology Education in Ateneo de Manila University. I am currently holding a Maryland Advanced Professional Certificate (APC) in Biology.
In my twenty-three years of teaching high school science in the Philippines and Arizona, I taught Biology, Advanced Biology, Honors Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Physical Science, Environmental Science, Experimental Research, General Science; and in my sixth year of teaching middle school science here in CMIT-North, Maryland, I taught Physical Science, Biology, Earth Science, Life Science, and high school elective Genetics. In addition for being a high school educator, I became a part-time college instructor and taught Zoology in B.S Physical Therapy class in 1997 to 1998. I became a research adviser of hundreds of high school research projects/investigatory projects for about 10 years in which many of my projects reached and won up to the national level science fair competitions. I received the Science Project Adviser Award in the 2005-2006 National Science Fair. I coached students in Biology Quiz, and attended numerous science and technology workshops and seminars from the division, regional, zonal, national, and international level. I became a Research Trainer in Secondary School Teachers for Special Science Class Curriculum in Region III from 2005 to 2007. In addition to my science career, I became a Regional Master Teacher Trainer of Intel Teach To the Future from 2002 to 2007. I became a GK-12 recipient in White Cone High School in Arizona from 2010 to 2011 where I collaborated to Northern Arizona University (NAU) fellow graduates to bring their leading research practice and findings into K-12 learning settings. In addition, I am an active STEM Educator Participant in U.S. Naval Academy STEM Educator Training-Workshop since 2015 to present.
“My educational philosophy is that each child is unique and capable of learning. He has different capability, thinking and learning styles. The teacher plays a big role in molding the child’s learning process. The teacher performs her job with hard work and heart, aiming the effective learning of the child. The success of the teaching-learning process involves effective and efficient teaching, support of the people around the child, some external factors, and the child himself.”
This year I will have UMBC, Pitt, Berkeley, GW, UCONN, and Clark Atlanta. Welcome to my class!
See you on Tuesday!
Natalie Crespo-Montano

TRAFFIC PROCEDURES
|
Arrival/Departure Routine
Please see the attached map of the driving routes and drop-off/pick-up locations. Please note: All parents, carpooling or individuals, must drop-off and pick-up in the rear of the building. The side parking lots are designated for high school overflow and commercial vans/buses only. Only students that ride on a commercial van or bus will be permitted to exit to the side parking lot.
The parking lot in front of Stantec is not available to CMIT stakeholders. This is their place of business and we all need to be kind neighbors. Please do not park, wait, or drop students off in their parking lot.
As everyone becomes accustomed to the drop-off and pick-up routine the process will become more and more efficient. Typically by the third week all vehicles are gone within 10 minutes.
Please be patient and follow the instructions from those directing traffic. No one's time is more valuable than the safety of our children.

Acting Principal
