CMIT End-of-the-School-Year Festival, a huge Success
CMIT is remarkable for its "best ever display of strength and resilience," in addition to its talented and intelligent teachers and well-behaved students. The exhibits, talent shows, spectacles, food stands, department showcases, parent volunteers, teachers who assist the students in putting it all together, as well as our administration and staff who assisted, participated, and shared the same vision—to end the school year with a festival of devotion, encouragement, and enjoyment. Kudos to Mr. Russell Carter, the man whose heart is on fire. He devotes his passion to assisting students in mastering their musical pieces and remaining interested. His group of students in the performing ensembles started and ended the talent show with a wing bang of beautiful notes. I could not take my eyes off of the CMIT Ukulele Club that I taught from the basics and was offered last school year. Students remained interested and focused and built their string talents to a higher level. The performance was accompanied by the ever-talented percussionist, Mr. Ricci. The students' love for music has grown, and they made a special announcement that they would like to have this club again next school year to share their talents with fellow schoolmates. Mr. Dunn's DJ'ed, Ms. Bond, and Ms. Cline's wonderful voices, along with the students' talents for more music, raps, and magic performances, blew off steam and more fun. The festival has also offered an opportunity for many students to make themselves known. To all the other staff and teachers who worked to make the whole event successful, that left a "smile" in every student: Mr. Mckinley, Mr. Lavalle, Mr. Dorris, Mr. Djer, Mr. Mirza, Mr. Bayram, Nurse Abraham, Ms. R. Brown, Ms. C Brown, Mr. Lawrence, Ms. Matson, Ms. Blackwell, Ms. Fermin, Ms. Eclevia, Ms. Keskin, Ms. Subasi, Mr. Wethman, Mr. Destry, Mr. Tekin, Dr. Gaskins, Mr. Ozdem, and Ms. Gonzalez. To all the other teachers that called, emailed, and showed support in the preparations, their effort has not been wasted. Our students have grown and felt so much love and support because of our admin who shared the same vision. Principal Ms. Ozturk and Assistant Principals, Mr. Avsar and Ms. Colandrea, who were in every way meticulous, proposed comments and supported the program all the way.  All proceeds from the festival will go to the SGA's Grades 9, 10, and 11 and the Green School Club. All patrons, whether from service (time), money, or kind, will receive an acknowledgment receipt and an appreciation card before the end of the school year. Pictures, and Videos will be available soon in the school's official website.
