Congratulations Class of 2022!
|
This past week CMIT Academy North High School’s Class of 2022 walked the stage and turned their tassels in front of a packed auditorium at Northwestern High School. Salutatorian Anthony Stills Jr. and Valedictorian Gabrielle Pierce delivered inspirational speeches as their classmates, family members, teachers, and administrators proudly looked on. With 157 graduates, this was CMIT North’s largest graduating class to date! A huge thank you to everyone who was involved in making this ceremony such a success. It really took a village and CMIT students, parents, and faculty really stepped up and collaborated so well to send our seniors off in style. Congratulations Class of 2022, we can’t wait to see what great feats you accomplish in your postsecondary endeavors!

CMIT End-of-the-Year School Festival - June 10, 2022 from 3PM to 7PM.
|
The CMIT End-of-the-Year School Festival, which is dated Friday, June 10, 2022, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., invites CMIT students and their parents only as volunteers, to witness the excellent talent presentations such as the Jazz and Music Ensemble, the CMIT Ukulele and Guitar Performance, and different talents from students and staff.
Participating after-school clubs and departments will have booth tables to showcase different activities, games, music, and dance.
This event is exclusive to CMIT students, and parents are invited to sign up as volunteers. If a student or parent signs up for more than one entrance ticket, Dr. Clarke will confirm the names of those people attending. They must be volunteers or family members and Ms. Colandrea & Dr. Clarke will determine if they can come. This is an exclusive CMIT student's activity.
Please purchase your ticket through mySchoolBucks for this wonderful occasion of enjoyment and celebration which promotes a social interaction and harmony.
Our Festival is sponsored by the Grade 10 &11 SGA and CMIT Green School Club.
FYI:
- All donors who pay for and/or donate all of the ingredients, materials, labor, transportation to the school, and time required to make whatever they are donating to the end-of-year festival will not be reimbursed for their time, labor, and materials, or transportation costs. Anything patrons give will be completely donated, and any money it raises will be given to the school programs designated by the festival. An acknowledgment email for the donated amount or time will be sent to patrons before the end of the 2022 school year.
- If parents are volunteering their time, a schedule and duty will be emailed by Wednesday, June 8, 2022, and they must have PGCPS fingerprints.
- All donations will go to benefit the Chesapeake Math & IT Academy Green School in Club and the Students Government Association (SGA) through the End of the School Year Festival to support their next school year projects.
- All donations, whether in cash or kind, are listed on a spreadsheet, which teachers are welcome to view.
- While we are so grateful for the contributions from our extremely talented school community, no donor will be compensated in any way for their donations. Only approved PGCPS vendors can sell during the festival and must have approval from the CMIT admin as well. This is PGCPS policy.
- The End of the School Program was initiated to satisfy all needs and requirements for school wide activities & programs for Green School certification and awards.
On behalf of the Green School Cub of CMIT and the SGA, we could not thank you enough for supporting our students.

Science Olympiad's Last Meeting
|
Hello, Science Olympiad families.
On Monday, June 6th, from 4 PM to 6:30 PM in the media center on the 2nd floor, we will hold an awards ceremony and a last celebration for Science Olympiad students. The awards ceremony will start at 4 PM and right after, we will get into the celebration which will include entertainment such as playing video games and watching movies. Lunch will even be provided by either Domino's or Papa John's.
Please note, it starts at 4 PM because I am aware that students may have other extracurriculars from 3 to 4. If you do not have any extracurricular activities that day, you are welcome to come to the media center at 3 PM. If you plan to come for 4 PM, please be on time. The awards ceremony will be delayed if many of you are late, which will delay the celebration.
Regardless of what time you arrive, please fill out the RSVP form if you plan to come. Since the only way for the form to be displayed in the newsletter is as a PDF, you will need to go to your Google Classroom or emails and fill out the form electronically. The form will close at 4 PM on Monday. I hope to see you all there.
