SATURDAY ACADEMY - MCAP mock test and review, a huge thanks to parents
|
CMIT's Tutoring and Academic Services during our Saturday Academy programs cannot thank parents and students enough for their continued support and appreciation of our effort to help our students pass the Maryland Comprehensive Assessment Program (MCAP) standard test. Despite the flickering thunder and rain, more than 100 students attended the mock test and review.
The Mock Test helps students develop effective time-management skills while also reducing stress. This is the most important aspect of taking any test. The MCAP assessments are designed to assess students' abilities and readiness to enter the workforce or a higher school. Individual student reports explain student performance on the MCAP to help parents understand how their children did in foundational courses.
For both Algebra 1 and English 10, students' teachers will continue to review their work. The MCAP exam is scheduled for May 17 and 18.

Happy Mother's Day Candles
|
Chemistry Honors and AP Chemistry students produced candles in the lab
Students melted natural soy wax and mixed it with color and scent in a small jar.
They placed the wick in the middle when wax started hardening.
Finally, they attached the "happy mothers' day" stickers.
Mothers day candle gift was ready!
Who knows, some of them may start their candle business!

Teacher Appreciation Day was a SWEET Success!
|
Thank you to all the parents who donated funds and items to the Teacher Appreciation Day Dessert Cart. It was a huge success! Teachers reached out to me to share their appreciation:
This was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!
This was such a heartfelt expression of care toward us that came at a crucial time in the school year. The PTSO, Ms. O'Donnell, and everyone else involved are truly heroes for uplifting our spirits!
Can I share a pic of my feet on the bathroom scale showing my 5 pound increase???? :D
Thank you so much for making a special week!!
You are the BEST!
It really does make a difference to the teachers to know that they are appreciated. Thank you again to all of you who helped make this happen.
