JOIN "WRIGHT STUFF" - BALSA PLANE CLUB
|
Dear Students,
Another fantastic STEM club is about to start: Wright Stuff - Balsa Plane Club under the leadership of Mr. Coplan who is a professor at UMD Collegeboard!
Students participating in the Wright Stuff, one of the activities of the Science Olympiad, will build long-duration indoor planes and, through testing and experiments, learn to maximize the time in the air.
Building and flying Wright Stuff planes is interesting, rewarding and students learn new and useful skills. CMIT has a tradition of placing first in invitational and regional Wright Stuff competitions in the state.
2 club members whose planes fly the longest will have a chance to compete at Science Olympiad invitational and regional tournaments to defend our gold medal.
If you want to make a balsa plane that can fly up to a few minutes, join this club?

Hello CMIT!
A few photos to share this week:
'Rob the Turtle' was taken by Jordan Blake. His creativity in using inanimate objects to resemble an animal incorporates smaller objects to create a macro-sized looking turtle. Very creative!
'Red forest' and 'Winter Bloom' were taken last week by Hafsah Ghori.
She captured the fall season perfectly as the leaves changed colors and the sun behind the plants might remind us of the warm weather ending as the cold season approaches.
'A Walk Around CMIT' by Rhyanna Knights and 'Sweitzer's Beauty' by Jaelyn Fox capture both the little things and larger scale scenic views locally around our school. These students show that you don't have to travel far to experience peaceful nature scenery.
Our photographers were hard at work last week capturing content all around CMIT. Our prompts were macro vs. micro and/or leaf shapes. Take a look at their work!
