BREAKING NEWS
MAKE UP PICTURE DAY DECEMBER 7TH
We will have makeup pictures on Tuesday, December 7th. STUDENTS MUST WEAR THEIR CMIT OXFORD SHIRT for pictures. If you have not yet purchased one, you still have time to get it. The extra shirts we had are far too small for most of the students who needed one last time. We are suggesting borrowing a shirt from a classmate or CMIT family friend if you cannot purchase one. Club and sports pictures will also be taken that day. If you have any questions, please contact Me. O'Donnell.

ANNOUNCEMENTS
Targeted Credit Recovery
Dear Students, Parents, and Friends, Monday marks the start of 9th grade English Targeted Credit Recovery work. The goal of this week will be to identify select assignments for revision and resubmission. But the purpose here is not simply the accumulation of points; it is the demonstration of learning. As I mentioned last week, the single biggest determiner of failing grades at this point has been the non-submission of work. On Monday we will cover the program requirements - what students are obligated to communicate both before and after they've recovered an assignment, what assignments are permitted for recovery, and what to do in the event that students do not wish to recover credit. At the moment, the first two TCR days are Tuesday November the 9th and Wednesday November the 10th. Any additional days for credit recovery may be added with at least 24 hours notice for students.

All the Best! Mr. Bevard, MA English 9 & 10 Department Chair CMIT Academy

SGA
SGA Executive board has been meeting to discuss possible events and fundraising. Each class should have met with their advisor by this time to start planning fundraising and school wide events. We are so proud of these emerging leaders and can't wait to see what they do next!

Two (2) Alliances – one (1) “red” and one (1) “blue” – composed of two (2) Teams each, compete in matches consisting of a fifteen (15) second Autonomous Period, followed by a one minute and forty-five second (1:45) Driver Controlled Period. Science Olympiad Saturday Meeting 11/6/21
The Science Olympiad team had another great meeting this past Friday and Saturday, with students showing once again that they are hungry to bring back the gold for CMIT North come the December 11th Invitational at National Cathedral. The team worked hard preparing for their events, with students in lab and studying events avidly working on their information sheets and taking practice exams in addition. Students participating in Codebusters were hard at work practicing encryption and decryption of ciphers and learning new formulas for others as well. Students in Astronomy learned the properties of an orbiting object, such as its velocity and centripetal acceleration. Students in Experimental Design were able to complete a practice exam that further enhanced their knowledge and application of the Scientific Method. The National Cathedral Invitation is five weeks away, and preparation until then will continue to be in full swing. As a reminder, weekly Friday meetings will continue from 4 pm-6 pm on Google Meets, with students having been sent the meeting link via email, and Saturday meetings from 9 am-1 pm will continue as well. Keep up the great work Tigers!
