BREAKING NEWS
BRAND NEW PTSO FORMING! Join us!
Welcome back families and welcome to our new 9th grade families!! CMIT North High School is forming a different kind of PTA/PTO than ever before. This is a PTSO-Parent, Teacher, Student Organization. We have all survived virtual learning and are looking forward to implementing the lessons we learned from that experience. One thing we realized is that we NEED a strong PTSO to help our students be successful and to support the work of CMIT North High School teachers and staff. That is why we are including STUDENTS in the organization. They deserve to have a voice and we need to hear from them what they need from US to make their year a success. So we need you parents. We need leaders. We need voices. We need thinkers and doers who are willing to shake things up and make things happen. THIS IS A BRAND NEW ORGANIZATION so we are all starting in the same place. Please consider running for an office. We are accepting nominations from NOW UNTIL SEPTEMBER 27TH. We will hold elections the first week of October. Here is the link for the position descriptions: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1826vMpBM20QcZ8vwWnV7zhVAt3PopoLq7po3WQg5H78/edit If you would like to nominate yourself or someone else, please complete this form: https://forms.gle/Q8SzBQ8STYyR8edh8 SINCE THIS IS A NEW ORGANIZATION, YOU MAY NOMINATE YOURSELF OR ANYONE ELSE WHO CURRENTLY HAS A STUDENT AT CMIT NORTH HIGH SCHOOL. Teachers, staff, students and parents can work together to make our return to the building and resuming in person learning a success. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Ms. O'Donnell: todonnell@cmitacademy.org Thanks!

Je Wilson Introduction
Hello CMIT High Families, My name is Je (pronounced J) Wilson and I am happy to join the staff at CMIT as a Student Support Specialist. I am originally from Long Beach, CA but my hometown is "The City of Champions": Pittsburgh, PA. Prior to joining CMIT, I served two AmeriCorps service terms as K-3 Tutor/Reading Interventionist at four DCPS schools. In addition I taught children how to ride bicycles through a Bike Camp, and served as a Recess Coach at another DCPS school. I look forward to meeting you and your scholars, and molding your scholars into great minds and citizens. I leave you with these words from Dr. Frederick Douglass Patterson: "A mind is a terrible thing to waste." Which has always been my mantra, since I started my career in education.

Ms. Coholic's Science Classes
Hello everyone! I enjoyed a nice Back-To-School Night with parents and enjoyed getting to meet you. :) This week, BioGeoChem students will be learning about the types of scientific observation and how they become part of the scientific method. There will be activities and practice. In Physics, we will begin to practice with the tools of Physics: SI Units, conversions, some standard constants and their representative variables, and basic formulae. Students will need to begin bringing their calculators to class. Calculators need not be graphing calculators, and the ones used in math class (as long as they are scientific calculators with which students are already familiar with use) will be fine. Have a great week!
