Our PTO will become a PTSO next year: Parent, Teacher, STUDENT, Organization! It is a new opportunity for our students to engage in the process and have their voices heard. This PTO is brand new and we are looking forward to new members, new opportunities and new relationships. In order to prepare and get ready for the 2021-2022 school year, we need to hold new elections, rewrite bylaws and start planning for a return to the school building for our kids. But first, we need your help!! We need to create our own set of governing By Laws. These are the rules from which the organization will function. All students entering 7th grade MUST have their Tdap and Meningitis vaccines by September 28, 2021. Students who do not submit proof of vaccination prior to this date will be excluded from school. Documentation can be sent to the school nurse via email at nurse@cmitacademy.org or faxed to 301-560-3461. Medication forms and other medical forms can be found on the CMIT website under the Nurse tab. In order for forms to be considered valid for next school year, please have them completed after July 1st. Appointments should be made to drop off forms and medications to the nurse. We decided to build a solar-powered car and take part in a 1,200-mile road race in July of 2022. This is quite a challenging project, but it promises to be a rewarding experience for those who choose to participate. We are planning a virtual presentation session on June 9th at 6:00 PM to explain the whole idea. Science education continues at home. Chemistry H. students enjoyed home experiments. They made ice cream or completed an osmosis experiment. Science is fun! *Salt is mixed with ice outside the ice cream mixture. As salt dissolves it absorbs the heat from the surrounding (ice cream mixture). So, the temperature decreases to 5-6 F and the ice cream mixture freezes.
