EXTRACURRICULARS
Mathmagicians Club
Dear CMIT N students and parents, Hope everything is fine with you. I would like to invite CMIT North high school students to math competitions and contests, one more time. On the virtual learning system, many schools decided to not join the competitions this year. This means the schools which are attending the competitions and contests have more chance to win. I have been running the "Mathmagicians Club" to prepare our students. Our Principal, Mrs. Ozturk, has already approved the competition fees. So the students don't need to pay any fee. The students should focus on studying and win them. Every competition has different prizes and awards system. Some competitions offer tuitions (full/ partial), and acceptance to a university; so many of them offer money awards according to which place you earn, and most of them give certificates (place and/ or participation). This is a huge change to build your resume. Please see the attachments for the math contests and competitions schedule. Also please review the links below. 1. MAA-AMC Competition: https://www.maa.org/math-competitions/2020-2021-amc-online-policies 2. Aretta Labs/ Math Madness Competitions: https://www.aretelabs.com 3. Caribou Math Contests https://cariboutests.com/public/participate.php 4. Math League Competition https://www.mathleague.com 5. The University of Maryland High School Mathematics Competition https://www.math.umd.edu/highschool/mathcomp/ Also, I received an invitation from MathWorks Math Modeling Challenge/ M3 Challenge. They want to see our school in the competition. If there are at least 5 students from juniors and/or seniors, I can make the registration. Please see the attachments. The club days are on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3 pm-4 pm. If you are interested, please contact me. ekeskin@cmitacademy.org

Online Skills for Business Club
The students in the Online Skills for Business Club have worked diligently on creating products for their website. This week's feature is on Gabrielle Pierce who started the business La Belle Beauté. Gabrielle has provided her company description along with links to her website and social media account. "La Belle Beauté was founded by Gabrielle Pierce who is an 11th grader here at CMIT. Along with charm bracelets, La Belle Beauté also sells lip gloss, keychains, hair accessories, and more. Special items will be released for Valentine's Day soon, so be sure to buy something for that special loved one, as well as family and friends, near and far to brighten their day and show your love during these difficult times.
