Grab and Go Meals
Student Meals for Virtual Learning - FNS is committed to meeting the nutritional needs of each and every student during the upcoming school year. Grab and Go meals will be served two (2) days per week. Serving Days: Monday - Students pick up two (2) meal packages Wednesday - Students pick up three (3) meal packages. Note: Serving days may change with inclement weather and holidays. Meal packages consist of a full breakfast and a full lunch. Breakfast = Breakfast Item(s), Fruit, and Milk Lunch = Entree (Meat/Meat Alternate & Grain), Vegetable, Fruit and Milk. Supper meals will only be offered at state approved locations. Fall Bridge Diagnostic Assessment
Good morning CMIT families, Starting Monday, September 14th, students will be taking the Fall Bridge Diagnostic Assessment for several of their courses. The results of the Fall Bridging Diagnostics Assessments will be used by teachers and staff to implement and improve instructional practices. The assessments will cover the four major content areas: Mathematics, Reading/English/Language Arts (RELA), Science, and Social Studies. The purpose of these assessments are as instructional tools for teachers and no grades will be assigned. Each test will be during the student's class period on the assigned date. CMIT North HS Schedule: Monday, September 14th: Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Quantitative Modeling Tuesday, September 15th: Biology, Biogeochemistry, Chemistry Honors Thursday, September 17th: English 9, English 9 Honors, English 10, English 10 Honors, English 11, English 11 Honors, AP Literature, English 12 Monday, September 21st: US History, US History Honors, AP US History, Government, Government Honors, AP Government, World History, World History Honors, AP World History *Please note that these are the only subjects that will be testing. If a class is not listed here, it will not be a tested class. How to prepare for the test prior to September 14th: 1. YOU MUST DOWNLOAD TESTNAV ON YOUR PERSONAL COMPUTER/CHROMEBOOK/LAPTOP. This needs to be completed by Friday, September 11th! -Directions to download TestNav: https://sites.google.com/pgcps.org/dl-parentresources/testing?authuser=2 UNDER TESTNAV INSTALLATION 2. YOU MUST KNOW YOUR PGCPS LOG IN. This must be the student account used to sign into SchoolMAX. YOU CANNOT USE YOUR PARENTS' LOG IN INFORMATION. -Your username is firstname-lastname@pgcps.org. If you are having password issues, please contact Ms. Gaudette (ngaudette@cmitacademy.org). 3. Please view the student tutorial - https://sites.google.com/pgcps.org/dl-parentresources/testing?authuser=2 Things to know for the test: 1. You will have one class period to take the test. If you have accommodations for testing, please speak with your teacher to set up your accommodations. 2. You will go onto your Zoom class at the start of your class period. The teacher will give you instructions. You will log out of Zoom and go into TestNav. TestNav will lock down your browser. If you are having any issues, you will need to Save and Exit the test, go back into your Zoom to speak with your teacher, get the problem resolved and then go back into TestNav to finish the test. 3. No cell phones, smart watches, or other personal devices besides your testing device should be used during the test. 4. Parents and guardians should ensure that students are taking the test seriously and in a productive testing environment but not assisting with questions. The test is to help guide instruction. Students will not receive a grade for accuracy for the test. For more technology assistance from PGCPS: Use one of the 9 Parent Support Centers across PGCPS. Parents and Families will be able to receive help with technology, navigating online platforms, and other troubleshooting related to distance learning. Centers will operate Mondays and Wednesdays from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Parents may call 240-696-3315 during these hours to receive live assistance. Use the Distance Learning Hotline Monday through Friday from 9 a.m to 5 p.m. for live assistance regarding technical/equipment issues and/or instructional guidance and support 240-696-6229.

Publicity Release Form
Greetings families: Each school year Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS) requires parents/guardians to fill out a Publicity Release form for each student. Throughout the school year PGCPS and the Prince George’s County Board of Education conduct activities that may be publicized by local or national news media or used to promote the school system. Publicity activities include interviews, photographs or videos of individuals or groups of students, or student works (including, but not limited to, artistic works, athletic activities, performances and competitions) that may be used in websites, social media such as Facebook and Twitter, print or online publications, or videos. Please fill out the attached Electronic PGCPS 2020-21 SY Publicity Release Form by checking only one of the boxes to GRANT or NOT GRANT PERMISSION. Ms. Coholic's Science Classes
Hi Parents and Students, BioGeoChem students will have an independent assignment project due on Wednesday night. The instructions and rubric are in the google classroom. Tuesday will be the PGCPS diagnostic assessment. Physics students have completed the 'toolkit' (SI units, conversions, scalars vs vectors, distance vs displacement, scientific notation, and significant figures reviews) and we will begin motion this week. Welcome back all from a productive summer, I hope this message finds you well! The leaves outside have started to brown, welcoming the Fall Season. Fall marks the start of preparation for a huge year full of STEM competitions and fun. Even though the schools will operate in distance learning during first semester, Science Olympiad will still be on during SY20-21. CMIT HS Science Olympiad team has been the only HS Science Olympiad team in Prince George`s county during the last 2 years. We will continue to our successful journey. Last week, Science Olympiad captains had the first planning meeting to discuss future plans. Look forward to hearing info about students recruitment and Science Olympiad season plan.
