HS BREAKING NEWS
Principal's Message
Dear Parents and Guardians, It is already March, and we are ready to welcome warm-spring-weather! With the days getting longer and more sunshine coming through, we will start enjoying the weather more. As we begin the month of March, our focus point will move to standardized test and AP test preparation. Saturday camps are continuing, extra tutoring options have been communicated with families and more information is coming soon regarding Saturday school camps. In spite of our best efforts, we are experiencing difficulties due to teacher absences and working collaboratively with the school team, PGCPS, and CLF to continue providing a proper learning environment for our students. We will continue communicating with classroom families if we have any updates. I would like to let you know that safety, acceptance, togetherness, and respect are our important values that we highlight at every chance. Disrespectful behavior coming from adults or students is not acceptable and will be addressed immediately. If you receive any experience that is not teaching this value and expectation, please report it immediately so administration can follow up properly. Reporting unacceptable behavior from adults or students, such as inappropriate language or comments, will help the team investigate and address these issues immediately. We are working on establishing certification programs that will be in addition to the ITEC program. I believe another program focused on college credit will provide more options and opportunities for our students. This year, we are working on having organized internship programs for CMIT North High School students. The MDOT internship pilot program structure is finalized and will start this summer. Please email me if you have any contacts looking for interns with a strong IT background. With your help, we may be able to extend internship programs for our scholars. Mr. Avsar is overseeing the internship programs; please include him in your emails as well. Thank you to the parents who are already sharing the information with administration! Please remember, working collaboratively will improve educational practices here, at CMIT North High School!
